  1. Because a bold jerk will put in your log, boring place, boring hide, boring swag. Oh wait. They may do that anywhere. Hide what you would want to find?
  2. I'm an avid draw-er and once I found a drafting pen with a set of nibs and a bottle of ink. I was beside myself with glee. I didn't have anything to trade so i threw 15$ in the cache.
  3. They were packaged and sealed, thanks be to god. I just hope everyone knows that they are not useable when exposed to the heat/cold/moisture of the outdoors ;;
  4. I did once but it was because a mud hole stole a shoe.
  5. Come to think of it... I forgot to ask "why"? Doesn't the world have too many of these already? but the OP didnt ask what we thought of the cache.
  6. I think that's a beautiful sticker. I'm not quite sure why it's offensive? I mean. They're just naked. What would I tell a child? They're naked. People are beautiful, some people draw them. I mean they're not doing it or mouthing at each other. I think the objectification on trucker mudflaps is probably worse, and you see those everywhere. It's better than the "eductional cache" I found once that was full of condoms and lube.
  7. I've been really pleased with geodroid because it updates regularly with things that users ask for. I tried geobeagle for awhile and it didn't feel very intuitive.
  8. Really? I don't like spoilers. I especially don't like when people post them in my caches. I wish you could delete the pictures on logs without deleting the whole log.
  9. So I should carry an Epi-pen where-ever I go. For others.
  10. I hate when people use those big metal barrels that christmas popcorn comes in. URGH! SLIMEY, RUSTY, WET, YUCK. I was pleasantly surprised by a feed bucket tho. Iono how it stayed all dry inside.
  11. Don't you train them by setting out things on the floor, including the target (i guess an ammo can) and giving them a reward when they go near it, and then when they regularly do that you increase the challenge?
  12. For those who poo-poo Twitter, I find it really convenient as a PA system. since my whole family has Twitter straight to their phones, i can tell my brothers, my dad and my mom where I am with just one message, even if theyre not in the same place. I can also post my coordinates automatically with my tweet. when i want to go caching on the fly, and i havent told anyone where i am going, its my safety net. i can also post pictures of the paths to caches to make my brother jealous. P.S. yes my profile is private so creepniks cant track me.
  13. I never hated Micros or LPCs until I took my boyfriend caching. The first cache we found was a fairly large one with a ton of neat stuff in it in a gorgeous area that neither of us knew was there before. The second was a creatively cammo'd ammo can along a nature trail in a nearby park. He was all about caching then. The second time we found 1 micro and 1 LPC in parking lots. The first one he just kind of made an irritated noise. The second one, when he realized what was up, he just sat in the car. I still don't mind them that much, but I can understand how to some people, even the small effort needed to find them(most of them, the bad ones) is not worth it for the rewards.
  14. Being a smartass just brings the thread back to the top.
  15. If your dog responds to verbal commands to leave people and wildlife alone and is good offleash, you should be fine. Remember to comply with leash laws where they apply.
  16. I think many people have listed why cemeteries are so great. They are historical, they are quiet, they are usually well maintained, people who are buried there or who have had people buried there would want people to visit graves and remember... Another good example, there's a Settler's Cemetery here in Pearland that has a historical marker. It is where the first settlers of Pearland are buried. Another example I'd pick would be the Alamo. People crawl all over that building constantly, picnic there, party there... and a 115 Texans died there. It's not morbid to visit there, is it? But good-o, like you say, there is a world FULL of sights and history, so you don't need to go to cemeteries if you don't want.
  17. I still like the "If you liked this cache you might like ...." way. What I would like more than THAT is if caches were associated with tags like "Hike, Cemetary, Parking Lot, Historic Marker" and those tags could be assigned by users and then I could search tags.
  18. I read them but when I actually go cache I usually forget them. I'll search awhile and then look the hint up on my phone, unless geodroid stored it, then i check while im looking.
  19. Some sane people arent! I think a cemetary icon would be neat, would help me find caches I like. I don't think its very likely tho. I think people are SAYING these caches are disrespectful, but I think what most of them MEAN is that they are afraid of cemetaries, and have no desire to go there. That's cool, and if a icon will help you avoid them, and me find them, that's cool too. I'm afraid of heights and cliffs, if it is ever an issue icons will help me avoid what I'm afraid of.
  20. Just report you own post with !Report and ask for it to be deleted. Moderators will get to it when they can.
  21. What I understood was that it would block watchers AND block the person from seeing your cache all together.
  22. One other person mentioned this, but what I do is find a "stencil" font on the internet for my word processor and print out whatever i need the side of the cache to say on some good hard cardstock. Then I just use an exacto to cut them all out and presto, stencil. If you let it dry thoroughly between uses, you can use it for a good long time.
  23. I disagree with the OP's intention, but I like their idea. I wish I could block some watchers from my caches. I don't really fuss with anyone, but if I did I would like to be able to block them from seeing my cache, if I thought they might have a mind to harass me.
  24. And now I'm always going to think about that. At least I'll be able to laugh myself out of the blinding werewolf rage.
