  1. It's good to see other ladies involved in this wonderful new hobby! Wow you are smoking it 50 finds in a month or two! I've got 8 under my belt and like you have found beautiful places near me I never knew existed! Took the waverunners out last week to Geocache the lake.....fell off an island and got my cell phone wet Today I bought a waterproof garmin though and I can't wait to start using it when it arrives Saturday! Good to meet you...see you around this site!
  2. Hi Karol! You sound like me! I'm totally hooked now too. Wish I was closer...I'm in East TN here.
  3. Hello Dijana! Your English is pretty good I think. I just started GC'ing too. Would be nice to find some other ladies in my area to go hunting with. I don't have instagram but it's nice to be able to chat on this website anyway.
  4. I think it's sweet of you to help. I just started GC'ing a month ago have found 8 caches and 3 of them I had to put new log or swag in. I wonder if there is a special paper that we are supposed to use for the logs though? Something that takes the elements should it get wet.
  5. Yes, the Oregon 600 can use routable opensource maps (see the Maps page here). They are new and more expensive, but the Oregon 7x0 series have direct (via wi-fi or bluetooth smartphone) access to Geocaching.com data, so no need to connect to a computer if you don't want to! Thank You Atlas Cached! After dropping my phone in the lake hunting for a boating GC last week, I've been on the hunt for a waterproof gps. It's worth it to me to spend a little money on a unit that will make this hobby more enjoyable. Boy would I ever love to have that 700 and not have to use my computer at all. I see I can buy a used one for $319 ...hummmm might have to go for that one. Thanks again.
  6. I'm a new GC'er and have just been using my cell phone app. So I'm researching units also. Features I have to have are 1. waterproof 2. usb port - things I'd like to have are routable roads, ANT + Bluetooth and a map including Germany where I'm visiting soon. Everything I want can be found in the Garmin Monterra, but I don't think I want to spend $400 for a unit to find dollar store trinkets. (My practical side hounding me) So now I'm looking at the Garmin Oregon 600. I can get it for $200. I don't need a camera but I'm going to check and see if I can put a map on it that will give routable directions. Hope others will chime in here and we can research this topic together!
