  1. That's what I thought it was. Then I read a thread where someone told him that if he changed his name to something less offensive, it would be a good start. He was having NO part of that idea. Anyway, that's when I looked at the name from a different angle. I think it suits him.
  2. That's great! I'm glad your good deeds and kindnesses have come back to you. GPSKitty
  3. Don't come caching in the L.A. area, ok? And I'll make sure I stay away from Reno....which is NOT near Vegas. GPSKitty
  4. I suspect he is unable to. His personal communication style is what you see here. That is not something that can be changed without effort. GPSKitty
  5. He said it wasn't a photo. Check the 3rd post on this thread. He made his own rendition in PhotoShop. GPSKitty
  6. Ahh, yes...that first cache. I remember it like it was...um...er...a whopping two months ago. I only have 15 so far, but that first one sure was sweet. Congratulations and welcome to one of the best addictions known to man. And woman. GPSKitty
  7. Dude, I'm liking you more and more.
  8. I'm not sure about the others but Groundspeak Inc. pays me quite well for the services of approving and moderating for them. Heck I wouldn't have taken the job otherwise. EDIT: typo Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh umc, they dont have to know The cat's outta the bag. GPSKitty
  9. Thanks for passing that along, Hysteria. I will try that when I start trying to make shrinkys. GPSKitty
  10. I assume some kind of clear coating could be sprayed on them to make them waterproof? Also, a big reminder. Don't run the stuff through a laser printer! my brother sprayed his with polyurethane. seems to work on waterproofing. Polyurethane should work fine. There is also a special waterproofing spray made especially for computer printed shrinkys. GPSKitty
  11. I've been doing some researching on Shrinky Dink and polyshrink online while I'm stuck at home with a bad foot. I haven't had a chance to try it out yet. But one thing I read was that the plastic is directional. It shrinks more in one direction than another. Maybe placing the design longways versus crossways or vice versa would make a difference. And there is a special heat gun you can buy at craft stores. I became aware of them in connection to embossing greeting cards, but it would work for shrinky dinks too. I don't think a hair dryer has the right heat output. GPSKitty
  12. I feel all warm and fuzzy. Wait a minute...I'm a cat. I'm ALWAYS warm and fuzzy. GPSKitty
  13. Wow, AH, you are good. I found that site a few weeks ago and was lucky to make a half-way decent looking flake. I would never be able to make a recognizable design. I am humbled. GPSKitty
  14. I've never been able to make sense of some of the online logs I've read that go something like "I left this and that and one of those, took nothing. Had a hard time closing the container. Next person to find should plan on taking something". Huh? It's wonderful to be generous and help restock a cache that's in need, but to overstuff an already full cache? I repeat...huh? I'm still new enough that I have yet to come across caches that are full of junk or trash, (mostly doing micros and virts) but I have wondered what the acceptable action is on those occasions. I understand "take something, leave something of equal or greater value" but if there is a bunch of junk, is it proper to leave one or two decent items and take out several trashy things? GPSKitty
  15. That's priceless!! I love it....busted by an ever-observant 3 year old. GPSKitty
  16. Color me green. Have a great time and come back and tell us all about it. GPSKitty
  17. Awww....poor puppy. Always blame the poor dawg. She's gonna need therapy. GPSKitty
  18. The first cache I looked for was a micro with a 2 star difficulty. I picked it because it wasn't too far from my house and I knew the area. I failed the first time, got it on the 2nd try. Start out with easier caches until you get your feet wet. The more difficult caches aren't out of the question, but it will be less frustrating for you as you are starting out. Have fun, and welcome to the club. GPSKitty
  19. My sister told me she read of an account of a severe earthquake (way back in history) in which people died from being knocked to the ground and beaten to death from the bouncing. Don't know how true it is. GPSKitty
  20. i've gone caching in snow like this. the stick is a yardstick. That's not snow, that's a freaking bobsled run at the winter Olympics. LOL. I didn't notice the similarity til you pointed it out. You are absolutely right. GPSKitty
