  1. I consider myself to be a lefty even though I've learned to adapt to this right handed world. I write, mouse, brush teeth and carry things/reach for things left handed. I use scissors and knife right handed. Iron clothes and throw right handed, too. P.S. My sig line was there BEFORE I read this thread.
  2. You went and got me all teary eyed. I'm glad you found an activity to share with your daughter. Here's to another cache filled year!
  3. He's got some health issues going on. He makes a quick appearance in AS almost daily. Get better soon Sparky.
  4. Been there, did that. I use rechargeables, and I can't count the times I've forgotten to recharge 'em. Sometimes I have spare alkalines with me, sometimes I have to stop somewhere and pay an arm and a leg. <ouch!> Hmmm, this thread reminds me of something I think I need to do....bye!
  5. Ok, PocketPCGuy, I give up. I checked out that site and I can't find where it mentions Good Feet orthotics. I read some articles and the forums, but it would take me a month to read through it all. Could you point me toward the info about Good Feet? I have one very near me and I was going to stop in there after my foot heals more from the surgery I had.
  6. My name is GPSKitty and I have a confession to make. I have been stuck at home for nearly a month, recovering from foot surgery. A MONTH I tell ya! Surely enough time to get this obsession/ RASH out of my system. Yes... it certainly feels like a rash, a permanent itch. But did I use that time wisely, such as pursuing other interests and working at breaking this vicious cycle? No, sadly, I did not. <hangs head in shame> I obsessed, coveted other's caches and re-freshed the forums endlessly in my never ending spare time. And then, just this past Saturday.....well, I think you might suspect what happened. But I HAD to! It was a previous DNF and it was haunting me, calling to me...nay, SHOUTING to me! So as soon as I was able, I hobbled and limped to the cache, dragging my bad foot behind me, uphill, in both directions. And I got them, both the cache and my fix. I'm not proud of it. Well, maybe a little. H-E-double hockey sticks, I'm dadgum proud! I found that sucker. Another smiley face on my list. And then a few days later, <lowering voice to a whisper> I did it again. So, I admit I fell off the wagon and it feels SO bleeping good. Yes, my name is GPSKitty and I am powerless over my addiction. CACHE ON!
  7. You wrote what I would have written, if I had written it. I always hate having to switch over to the alkalines, but they are only in the GPSr until I can get back home and charge up the NiMh's. I've had the rechargeables for awhile and they are now getting a little fritzy about holding a good charge. But I'll be staying with rechargeables without a doubt.
  8. Welcome to my world of OCD= Obsessive Caching Disorder. I'm glad you found this family-friendly activity to enjoy.
  9. Ummm, I'll be right back. I have to go caching now. Whoooosh..........
  10. It's a buzzard (vulture)....they eat dead thingys... I thought that's what it looked like, but I wasn't at all sure. They live where YOU live? We have birds like sparrows and scrub jays and mourning doves. Crows and pigeons too. Oh, and wild parrots. Sometimes seagulls if there's a storm over the ocean. But vultures...wow.
  11. I'm SO glad I live in Southern Calif. It's been spring here all winter. In fact, judging from your post, our winter high's are higher than your spring high's. I wouldn't know how to act if I lived where it snowed. I would hibernate til spring thaw. Yeah, yeah, I know...we don't have seasons here and we do have earthquakes. But at least I've never had to dig my car out of a snow drift. I'm glad that spring has sprung for you. Happy caching!
  12. Definitely, I would suspect a connection. I'm currently recovering from bunion surgery and I've gotten a lot of support and info from a forum called Health Boards. They have topics on just about any imaginable health problem, one of them being Foot Problems. http://www.healthboards.com/boards/index.php?
  13. I don't know if that park is frequented by kids, but I'm glad you found it and not some little children.
  14. This cache sure is getting a lot of attention. How is it that a cyclist happened to find it? From the pics you posted, it appeared to be in a good hiding spot. I thought they would be whizzing past at the speed of light. I'm glad you are getting it back though and that you obviously had good identifying info in the cache. This is getting to be quite an ongoing story. Tune in next week.....same cache time, same cache channel.
  15. Personally, I'm not at all offended by the sub-title, although I'm very sure there are women who would be. I sometimes wonder what planet some women are from. And I notice many areas, TV commercials for one, where women are allowed to bad mouth men, but if you took that same situation and reversed genders, there would be a huge outcry from women's groups. But the men are supposed to lie there and take it quietly. Both partners should be allowed reasonable time to pursue hobbies and interests, whether or not the other party wants to join in and participate or not.
  16. You guys need to put your foot down. You are whipped.
  17. I just tried from a new browser window and I can't even get the main page in IE or Netscape. I didn't try Opera. Luckily I'm already here.
  18. You know, Mr. Devil, I agree with most of what you said. I can't agree with it all because I don't have the full history, and I really don't want to go back and sort through all those past threads. But even the short exposure I've had has left a bad impression. Doing something in a fit of rage or during a temper tantrum does have consequences. Just like saying something ugly and hurtful to one's spouse during a heated argument. We need to watch what we say and do when we are angry, because it can't be taken back. Impulse control usually comes with maturity. And the point you made about the instituting of rules. Yep...most people are self governing, I think/hope. But then some folks want to test the limits and well....here we are.
  19. Oh my!! You must have a LOT of finds.
  20. And how would you happen to KNOW that it would not do that? Hmmmm?
