I have recently bought a Garmin Oregon 400t and I am generally very pleased with it. I have only found about 50 caches since I got it so I am still learning how to use it properly. There are a few minor niggles that I would love to find workarounds to and I wondered if anyone on this forum might have already worked out solutions.
The magenta/purple "goto" line that shows the direction of the destination often obscures important details in the path I would like to follow, especially in automotive mode. Is there a way to change the width of the purple direction line? I think a couple of pixels would be wide enough for me.
I prefer the map to always orient itself so that the direction I should travel to me destination is at the top of the screen. I have tried adjusting some of the settings, e.g. Setup -> Map -> Orientation, but can't get it the way I like it.
When I have logged comments against an attempt there appears to be no way to view those comments until I return home and hook up to my computer. Is there some way of viewing them on the Oregon when I'm in the field?
