  1. Thanks everyone but especially dprovan. I deleted my Delorme plug ins(several) which I had loaded directly from the geocaching site from my computer. Went directly to Delorme to downloaded plug in again. Also, I enable my plug ins and java script from both Internet Explorer and Chrome. Then, click on send cache to GPS and it worked. Whoohew. I did see where IE had Delorme plug in disabled. Anyway, can't wait to go caching...
  2. OK, it sounds like you're trying two different things and they're confusing you. Now that you've figured out how to get disk J:, what you want to put there is a pocket query, in the "waypoints" directory. If the pocket query is in a .zip file, the .gpx files in .zip file are what you need to put in the waypoints directory. Once the .gpx file is there, you can disconnected your PN-60, turn it off and on -- I've found my PN-60 doesn't see the waypoint files after I've connected it to the computer until I've power cycled it -- and then if you go to the page where the PN-60 lists geocaches and then to that page's menu, the "Files" choice will take you to the list of pocket query files. Load up the one you copied over -- presumably the only one at this point -- and you should be ready to go. I think you have an SD card, and if so, be aware that the SD card and the internal drive both have waypoints directories, and you can copy the PQ to either one. In fact, you can copy it to both, in which case the PN-60 will show two copies in the list. Best to pick one or the other for your PQs to avoid that kind of confusion. (It turns out that the PN-60 can confuse itself by writing the loaded PQ to the wrong disk, but you shouldn't have to worry about that until you get PQs working to begin with.) If there's a problem with your cable, it should show up when you copy the .gpx file to waypoints. If the files goes over to the PN-60, you're cable's probably fine. Now there is another thing that lets you send individual caches over to your GPS, and I think you know about it because you're talking about a "plug in". I almost never use that, but if you want to get that working, I've found it helps to deinstall any old version you might have and reinstall a fresh version direct from Delorme instead of using the install button on geocaching.com. Sometimes direct from DeLorme works when the geocaching.com download doesn't. And you need to have up-to-date firmware on your PN-60, or all bets on the plug in are off, although "up-to-date" was a couple years old last time I checked. As someone else mentioned, forget CacheRegister, if you ever knew about it. I also recommend using the manual PQ copy technique over using Topo to synchronize the PQs, in case you're considering that.
  3. USB Power was in "on" position, as manual directed owner to select; I selected "off" and then "on" again. Selected connect to computer and option "use GPS" highlighted. Played around with open SD card and Open internal drive. Computer now recognized GPS as removable disk "J". Tried download via send to GPS and GPX file. Could not drop GPX file into removal J file folder: options were "open", "always open files this type", or "show in folder." Folders of Delorme are forms, map, query, waypoints, tracks, updates, and the GC code listed on geocaching. when last folder open looked like computer coder speak. Checked hand held GPS and could not find geocache in SD card nor internal drive.
  4. This did not work. Unfortunately, the computer OS drive did not recognize the USB connection but did recognize other USB thumbnail I inserted. Sound like it might be the cord, which I had ordered new about 1 year ago. I'm thinking I will need to order another one. Wondering if I should chuk the whole system. Just getting frustrated with this. Seems like there is always an issue with Delorme and no easy nor quick fix.
  5. Thanks, I will try this as soon as I get home. Can't wait to find a cache again.
  6. Its been about 9-12 months since I downloaded geocache to pn 60. Error regarding plug in. I am a premium member and I have repeated download newest plug in from Delorme. Was on Internet Explorer, changed to Chrome and re download plug in without success. Do not want to go to another site like Gzak to do this and I would prefer to to download a few caches at a time. I just want system to work like it used to. Have been reading topics. Some say it is Delorme's issue. Some say it is geocaching.com issue since an update. Can't get it to work. I am almost ready to look for new hand held GPS but upsetting due to cost of the original unit was about $400 retail. Would like to get back out there caching. Please be detailed about any suggestions. Thanks.

  9. Unfortunately, this did not work for me. Will try next option. Thank you for your advice.
  10. Created a pocket query which was sent to email compressed. Tried opening and Windows Vista could not. Download into my Documents and could not open. Tried to go to my geocache.com premium profile but pq gone since it ran and could not download. Would like to download to a inserted scan disk. Travelling and want to get the pq in soon. Also, tried downloading via Topo 9.0. I have a pn 60 which I love and hate at times. Have been self taught. Seems like each step takes lots of research. Can anyone help?
