  1. I can understand the privacy aspect but how does that ruling stand up to the use of an audit log on a Premium cache?
  2. No. This has been brought up in the forums numerous times, and the answer is always the same. A search of the forums would have been productive. Help Center → My Account → More Site Functionality → Watchlist Identity http://support.Groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=145 B.

Would it be possible, via an enhancement, for COs to be allowed to see who has their caches on a watchlist? I have always been curious as to who is watching my caches and think other COs might like this feature. I realise I can have an audit list if I make the caches Premium Members only but I dont want to do that, I want to keep mine available to everyone.
  4. Thanks, I found the icons and the page to direct you how to install them. However - when I open MM on my PC under "overlay/icons" where I am supposed to delete existing icons there are none there to delete! I am not sure therefore wherfe the blue dot comes from to be able te remove and replace it. I have tried to add my own icon which shows up now in the "overlay/icons/remove" area but all I still get is that little blue dot. Can anyone please tell where and what I need to tweak to get a decent icon on my maps. Many thanks.
  5. And finally (he says hopefully!!) I have set up the caches on MM within a 10 mile radius of home from a PQ. It looks good but as it is a bit cluttered in places I have removed the labels. That just leaves the little blue dots but they are just a bit too small to see on their own. Holding the cursor over the blue dot still brings up the cache page so that is better. Is there any way I can double the size of the dot? Again many thanks in advance for any assistance.
  6. Chris - many thanks, it looks like I have it all up and running, very impressive. That must have taken you hopurs to work out. Thanks again. reg
  7. I bought mine a few weeks ago. The first one had to be returned with a faulty memory card reader. The second one had a faulty battery cover. Very prompt response in both cases by TotalPDA. I am now up and running at last. I have downloaded Cachemate and it works very well. I have downloaded MM from my PC once I realised you cannot have the whole of North England downloaded in one go and it looks good. The GPS is working well in conjunction with Cachemate and took me straight to some new caches this morning. Should I be getting the caches appearing on the maps? If yes then I must be doing something wrong as I cannot get them to appear. Any help would be much appreciated.
  8. Can anyone advise of any geocaching software that is compatable with the Nokia 5800 like Navigator etc.
  9. Can anyone recommend a PDA that is Windows Vista compatable please? We have two oldish PDAs but they do not work with Vista.
  10. Just a quickie which I am sure will be answered very quickly as usual: I have seen on a number of cachers stats that they have logged finds on their own caches. Is that acceptable?? Thanks in advance.
  11. No hints until the cache has been found at least once Aha thanks. I did FTF on 2 of these obviously without a "useful" hint!!
  12. On some new caches near me is a hint: Not on FTF What does that mean please?
  13. Congratulations to Overanout on his 2000th find - and Werewolf at that. Well done, keep it up - on to the 3000 now. Reg
  14. Nope. my curtains aren't so homely. PS... so is there any difference between a motorhome and a RV? An RV is a recreational vehicle and is the American term for a large motorhome. Typically, it is more like a single decker bus or coach.

  16. GeoLex - The Lexicon of Geocaching. Great - many thanks - just what i needed to see.
  17. Can anyone please help out a newbie with two terms I see written on logs, articles etc. 1. PAF or PAF'd 2. PDA Thanks in advance.
  18. Slightly off topic I'll admit (and for which I apologise), but I'm intrigued to find out what the difference is between a motorhome and a motorcaravan? As the proud owner of a motorhome for 10 years plus I can tell you there is no difference. The Caravan Club insist on calling them motorcaravans to keep it in the family as it were. Most, if not all, other organisations refer to them as motorhomes becuase thats really exactly what they are.
  19. No, its not a dig at anyone in particular - far from it - just a general query as to why I put these comments on the logs if nothing happens to them. The replies have been very helpful and although I am new to this I am very experienced at different types of searching. I appreciate what is said about newbies like me not finding caches but I think I would have found both Elland Bridge and Calder View - I might yet be proved wrong!! Cromwell Bottom was a real challenge, not just the puzzle, the hide was very good. And now on to Poor Johnson!!
  20. Many thanks for all the helpful tips. I had already decided I need spare log sheets in my pocket along with GPS, camera, pen, spectacles and small torch. Maybe a rucksack would be better!
  21. Hi Being new to this sport/hobby/game I am blessed with a lot of caches near to home. However some cannot be located despite vigorous searches by two of us. I have posted "did not find" and "notes" to this effect. I have also posted a note regarding a full log that needs replacing. But what is the point of me doing this? Nothing has been answered or done on any of them and some are 2 weeks ago. I would love to hear some comments and can take anything on the chin!
