  1. Okay, well that makes sense. Thanks.
  2. Ok, I'm not a new cacher but I honestly don't know the rules on this, I've noticed cachers logging their own caches as found. How is that possible, you didn't exactly find the cache now eh? What exactly are the rules on this?
  3. Funny, I know everyone likes ammo cans but every one I have found was always wet inside! I gotta say that the lock-and-lock is the cadillac of the lunch and cache container.
  4. We've ran into people a few times. There's always the awkward are they cachers or not? First time the other group simply said "it's OK we're not muggles!" Got a good chuckle out of that. Next time my daughter and I were going for FTF on a few new caches and saw another car drive up, I thought we could either have an akward silent walk or work together. So I said, " I think we're both here for the same thing" They were more than happy to walk along with us for an hour to do all these caches. It's nice to hear other peoples experiences and see faces to the names in your area. On the other hand, I have a cache nearby my house so I often glance as I drive by. One day I saw a couple obviously looking for the cache, so I thought I'd have a little fun. I drove up, parked right beside them, walked up to them and sternly said, " what are you guys doing" implying they were on my property> They looked up and didn't say anything, I don't think they knew what to say, then I laughed and said who I was and that it was my cache. Everyone had a good laugh.
  5. most valueble thing I found was a starbucks gift card, I took it thinking hey $5 free coffee and left about $5 worth of stuff! I was surprised when I went to starbucks and they had put $20 on it!
  6. I just became a premium member, thinking I would find the kml link again. It was still gone, so i instead did a pocket query, opened the results with GE, and am much happier with the results. GE's working faster now. I'm much happier with this option than I was using the old kml program.
  7. Updating the program worked, the file opened up nicely. Thanks.
  8. They open in Google Earth? I didn't know that, I'll give it a try. Edit: IT worked, thanks for your help.
  9. topo canada v2 I'll be using the info to plan cashing days.
  10. I've downloaded a query, unzipped it, but can't open it in mapsource. Does anyone know what I've done wrong, or if I left a step out somewhere? The message I get from mapsource is that the gpx file is not a valid mapsource file.
  11. So I've got the file downloaded, and unzipped, but when I ttry to open it in mapsource, I get a message telling me it's not a valid mapsource file. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
  12. How might I do that? Also, thanks for your response.
  13. Anyone? I'll bump this a few times, than I may have to make a new thread.
  14. I did the same thing today, hoping for the same results.
  15. Didn't want to start a new thread with this one already existing. I'm somewhat computer illiterate, so please be patient with me. I'm also using the garmin mapsource program, is there anyway to download all the caches within a certain radius of my coordinates to the mapsource program? Thanks.
