  1. I have so many Rock caches out there (all handmade, not bought), that some cachers in my area are using my handle as a clue. Not sure if that's a compliment or not...
  2. How long does a disabled cache have to be out there, unmaintained, before TPTB archive it?
  3. I'd cast my vote for adding a size catagory for nanos. I make my own caches and they are all hand made rocks. Some of these rocks are no bigger than a piece of gravel. There are so many containers out there, especially in urban settings, that are smaller than a regular 35 mm film canister. To me, any caches that are bigger than a film can yet smaller than a small cache should be classified as a micro and anything smaller than a film can should be a nano. Just my two cents.
  4. I've done things like that repeatedly. I think I've done it often enough that I've made a new personal diff. category of 5.5. I'm starting to learn now. After blindly following the arrow through brambles, briars, bogs, busses, bruises and beauty parlors. I stop for a second and ask myself questions like, "How deep is that creek?" and "Why would anyone put a cache in that crevasse?", before moving forward. Minor lacerations are one thing I can handle, but who wants to play full contact caching with a rockslide?
  5. Ahh. I see. Okay, that makes sense about the archived cache. I didn't know about the other, reusing the listing. Very cool. I thank you both!
  6. I know this post really belongs in the GC.com section of the forums. I've already posted it there, but I'm trying to get as much help as possible with this so hopefully someone can answer this question. I have two caches I need to remove from "My Caches". I have one that I had to abandon years ago. It was archived but it still shows up as one of my caches when I bring up the "My Caches" page. I would like to remove it completely. Second one is one that I built the description page for and when I sumbitted it as a new cache I was told by the reviewer that it was too close to the end of a multi/mystery caches final location. How do I remove it from my "Caches waiting to be reviewed" section? If anyone can help...

  9. I won't watch it. It's not me I'm worried about. It's the other million people that watch YouTube... Jethro: "Hey Bubba, somebody done hid sumthin' in the woods over by the crick!" Bubba: "Right on Brother! Let's go steal, destroy, vandalize and/or piss in it!" Jethro: "YEE HAW!" There are reasons we HIDE these things. I figure it's not hidden if everyone knpows where it is!
  10. I love YouTube. The greatest source of interesting video since Blockbuster and Hollywood came on the scene. I also love Geocaching. It gets me out of the house away from endless hours spent watching YouTube. But when the two cross paths?I recently typed "geocaching" into the YT search bar and came up with dozens of videos. Cachers bushwhacking through the woods seeking the ultimate find. However, it goes beyond that. These people tape themselves pulling the cache out of its hidden location, and then broadcast it for the world to see! I have never been more peeved than when I saw a kid pull the cache out (his second find) and show it on YouTube! ARGH!!! These people seem to have no respect for the person who hid the cache, and no respect for the caching community. I mean, who wants to go find a cache when you've virtually already been there. To tape the hunt is one thing, but don't give up the Final! Turn it off while you pull the cache out, move it away from the spot and THEN turn it back on. Don't show us all where it is, that's like telling us how the movie ends before we've seen it! Okay, rant done. Still ticked though. If this ever happens to one of my caches I'm moving it ASAP, and deleting logs from the culprit! I wish I could move all of THEIR hides, but I still have some morals. Who's with me?
