I have a Map76C and wanted to purchase a 512 card. I emailed Garmin to ask if I could and they said it was NOT advisable and that 256 was the largest I should use. Sorry, I did not ask the reasons. Just noted that the new revision of MapSource allows the use of 512s. See the following: * Change so that MapSource is compatible with 512 MB Garmin data cards when the card is in the unit and data is transferred to the unit (via USB or serial). The 512 MB Garmin data cards are not currently compatible with the USB data card programmer.

Could anyone help me and advise if there are any non Garmin branded memory cards that will fit the Street Pilot III Plus? Thanks for any help.

Have any of you technical types looked into somehow adapting an SD memory card to work in place of a Garmin memory stick? I'm not technically inclined but it seems like you could gut the inside of an 8MB stick and bring wires out to an SD card holder. Is it possible?

I've checked the Garmin site and looked at the data. What are the major differences between the 276C and the Street Pilot III (SPIII)? I have a chance to buy a SP III for under $500 and wonder if it's worth it. I do not see any BIG differences but then again these are old eyes....Thanks.

Hi Guys and Gals, I'm getting ready to buy a Garmin Map76C when they hit the streets. Being that it is a brand new model should I be concerned if I get one of the first batch produced or should I wait 6/9 months until the bugs (if any) are worked out?
