  1. I would think most geocachers have the common sense about where to place caches, but obviously someone didn't. http://www.woodtv.com/dpp/news/local/kent_..._in_parking_lot
  2. Hey! I'm looking to get back into geocaching. When I first started out, I had a Garmin eTrex Legend. It was probably the best & most reliable handheld GPS that I owned (compared to the Magellan GPS 315 that I used to have). If anyone has either a Garmin eTrex Legend or Vista that they're willing to part with, please let me know. Thank you!!
  3. I got my Jeep TB today. :-) I had a hard time trying to figure out what to do with it until someone said to enter its tracking # in at Groundspeak.com I was hoping it would have arrived sooner so that I could have taken it on vacation with me to Tennessee and found a good cache there. Now I'm back home and I'll have to see what I can find around here.
  4. You still looking for a cable? I am at work but i THINK I may have one at home. Let me know if you're still looking. Someone actually got in contact with me and I ended up buying a data/power cable from them for $18. Thanks for the offer though
  5. I want to get back into geocaching yet again and have recently obtained a Magellan GPS 315 handheld unit. I'm now in need of a data cable for it. If someone can hook me up with one, please let me know what you would want for it.
  6. I'm looking to get back into geocaching, but I'm not sure what sort of GPS units would be the best for this sort of thing. Any recommendations? I spied a Garmin Foretrex on Craigslist, but not sure if that would be the best thing to use.
  7. As I'm typing this, Fox 17 News at 10 on WXMI (Michigan TV station) is doing a piece on geocaching. Probably not as great as the one that aired on UPN a while back, but it gave viewers the gist of what the sport was all about. It looked like the geocachers were at the cache located at Wabasis Park, but I could be mistaken. Did anyone else manage to catch this?
  8. Thanks for the help...if you're ever in Michigan, be sure to keep a lookout for my cache (Search for ZIP 48809). It'll be a while before I can get it placed as I'm busy with college. I'm going to aim for next weekend to place it if the weather's nice.
  9. Hi guys, I'm still somewhat new to the whole geocaching scene. I've already found a few caches, and now I'm interested in hiding my own since there are none around where I live (the closest cache to where I live is 10 miles away). I was wondering, how can I get a hold of an ammo box? It's not necessary that I get one or anything, but if I choose to use an ammo box as a cache, I would like to know how to go about getting one.
  10. That's a relief...the first couple caches I found I took sig cards because there wasn't anything else that caught my eye.
  11. I was gonna start a thread regarding sig cards, but since there is already one, I'll ask my question here: Is it alright to take someone's sig card or should you leave it in the cache?
  12. I realized that it was probably the weather after I started the thread.
  13. Hi! I'm new to geocaching and I'm eager to get started. I recently picked up an eTrex Legend GPS unit off of eBay and just got it today in the mail. However, when I first turn it on, it goes to the Satellite screen and I see a screen that says "Wait...Locating Satellites" and it seems to take forever to finish. Is there a reason why it's doing this and why it's taking so long?
