  1. You support the site that lists the benchmarks.
  2. Thanks guy but there is nothing there to see so I'm closing the thread.
  3. Everyone is welcome to continue this thread as long as these two points are understood. 1: Everyone stay civil, as they have so far. Thank you. 2: Everyone understands that there are no plans for this type of feature to be put in place on the website. There is already a system in place and if used, it works well.
  4. Michael

    i still want it

You say request but call it a demand, which is it?
  5. Cheers to the committee. It was a job well done!!
  6. Yup - see page 2 of this thread - it's a known problem. Lisa Thank you for the guidance. I guess that I will just start to plough through that topic, now and this one can quietly fade away in a corner of cyberspace. Bill questions about the website are best asked in that forum. Not only will you find the answer but Groundspeak will not see it here. If its an unknown problem we will never know about it. Closing the thread per the OPs request.
  7. I used to hand out Signal points. Like Brownie points but they were worth twice the amount. You get 10 for the fun thread.
  8. An average day for a reviewer is educating land managers, writing emails to and from cachers, settling arguments between cachers, publishing caches, Working with me on local issues that have been sent to Groundspeak, keeping track of disabled caches and in general anything else that comes across their desk. Thats just the average day. On some days its all that and a lot more. A reviewer can spend between 5 and 50 hours a week reviewing. Some even more than that. They average at least one hate mail a week and in spite of it all still manage to keep a good attitude about Geocaching and Geocachers. Some times they even get to go caching. It varies by reviewer but thats a good example of a typical day in the life of a reviewer.
  9. Before you do this you need to get permission from the owners of the land. Gluing a container without permission is considered vandalism and would result in an archived cache.
  10. It IS AVG. However you can try this fix. Open AVG user interface In the top left menu click Tools > Advanced settings In the panel on the left click email scanner In the panel on the right look under email scanning Leave Check incoming email ticked but... Untick certify email This way AVG can be left on. Also all incoming mail is still scanned. That has helped some people. In addition AVG has said to me, that the problem is on their end.
  11. Closed by request of the OP. (yes thank you's are always welcome)
  12. Try logging out and back in on the main site. See if that fixes it.
  13. Instead of "Frequency" you might ask, "How often does the 400T get its sample? Once per hour, once per 15 minutes, every minute? How often does it sample the barometric pressure"? Sometimes it helps to be ultra simple when asking a question. I understood what you meant. It looks like the tech did not.
  14. FTF is first to FIND the container and sign the log. An ALR is an additional Logging requirement for the site not the log book in the cache. If the cache is out there and you find it before anyone else has you are the first person to find the cache. You sign the paper log. The ALRs are for the website. You can't use the "practice" vs "game" analogy here as it does not apply. Once the cache is put in place the game is on. If you are the first to locate the container and sign the log you ARE the FTF. Its that simple. All the ALR's in the world will not change that. Sheesh people its a game, its Tupperware in the woods. There should not be this much angst over a silly container in the woods with a piece of paper to sign. Why work so hard to make so it difficult?
  15. Of course you can Michael, as long as you don't expect me to send you this shiney new Edinburgh geocoin,........................that's not going to be sent to anyone with the correct guess Thanks for your emails folks, keep them coming! Thats ok I was going to guess it was Me. Since I can publish caches anywhere.
  16. There is an old programming adage. "Programs will expand to fill available space" The same with Profile pages. If its 250K, in 6 months people will want 400K. Get a page off site and link it on your profile then you can do as much as you want anyway you want including you tube files. Many ISPs give you a free page anyway.
  17. This thread is very close to getting closed. I will leave it open as long as the attitudes tone down somewhat. Honestly guys its a GPS not the end of the world. Don't get so wrapped up in a silly function. It either works or it doesn't. Chances are its in the middle of everyones understanding. Please keep it polite in here and tone it down a little Thanks.
  18. I was going to create an account that was named "Not Michael" but it takes 24 hours to post in the forums after account creation so I wont. But I do know who it is. Of course Ill never tell.
  19. As a general rule profiles can have a link to your business. We would prefer that the account is not set up for the purpose of advertising a business but if it is your business and its done well it is allowed on the profile page. Sometimes all you have to do is ask the right people.
  20. Don't hate me but you will get a lot more of these helpful responses in the right forum. Moving the thread.
  21. Thanks to everyone that helped him.
  22. We are working on all the current issues. We do them on a priority basis. They will all get fixed it just takes longer for some than for others. We are not neglecting anyone and we do care. I am sorry for the inconvenience but I need your patience on this matter until we can address it. Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns. Thank you, Michael LaPaglia Community Relations Specialist Groundspeak, Inc. www.geocaching.com
  23. Turn off your firewall long enough to see if that fixes it. Let us know.
  24. No need to get all serious. It is just a joke. I understood but wanted to be sure that everyone else knew it was not a "special privilege"
