  1. on your cache page is says, "The reviewers will not see this listing until you activate it." Because your cache is disabled the reviewer will not see your cache in the queue to be published. You need to enable the cache on the edit page of post an enable log on the cache page. This will put the cache page in the reviewers queue to be reviewed.
  2. Is this: "It's not currently working with IE6 or IE8. Have him update to IE7 or Firefox." A statement of fact? If so, when did it stop working with IE6? About a month and a half ago is when the problem started. It is a statement of fact. We are having some issues with the system. We are working diligently to keep up with the growing needs of the site. For the time being, if you have IE7 or FireFox, you may want to try using the Garmin Communicator via that browser. Thank you for your continued patience.
  3. I have the altimeter save turned off when the 400T is off and it still drained a set of batteries (alkaline) when it sat in the drawer for a month. Anyone else seeing this or am I the only person that lets it sit that long?
  4. I ran the first test and it worked . About 1.5 hours ago I ran it again and it didn't. So I called it in. It should be fixed soon. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I just got a call. The problem has been repaired. It will take a little time for the backlog to work through. Thank you for your patience. Michael.
  5. I just ran a test PQ and it arrived in lass than 10 minutes. It looks like its working fine from our end.
  6. If you list it with intentionally wrong coordinates you have lied to your reviewer and they don't like it when you lie to them. The first person to find the cache container is the first to find no matter what you call it. The Seventh is not the First. As the cache owner you can delete logs if they are bogus. Deleting a log like this will get the log reinstated and locked so you can not delete it. Your authority to delete logs is not 100% I doubt any reviewer would publish a cache with a silly ALR like this. Adding it after the cache is published will again not be a good idea. It is another lie to the reviewer. Since it is an ALR its an unknown type. Don't do it, its not worth it. why hide a cache with, in your words, a "silly, arbitrary FTF rule"? People get a lot of FTF's because they work at it. Therefore they deserve it. If someone wants to get the FTF they have to work harder than the next person. By the way. submitting a cache page without the cache in place is also against the guidelines and again lying to the reviewer. You don't want to see them angry, you wont like your reviewer when he is angry.
  7. We have been experiencing some issues with travel bug mileage not calculating correctly. The development team is aware of the problem and currently working to fix it. If you are the owner, you can try clicking on the drop down menu in the upper right hand corner and selecting “recalculate distance.” This does not always work, but it is something to try for the time being. Thank you for your patience!
  8. When a thread is closed by the owner's request there is nothing stopping someone from creating a new thread to continue the discussion. As long as that thread stays civil it can remain open until that owner wants to close it.
  9. The pups thread had a software download. It was moved to the proper forum. This is a multi forum system Somethings belong here and some belong elsewhere. No single forum is designed to be stand alone. They exist to work together. This system is designed to be used as a multi forum board. In the case of the pups thread, the forum for hardware and software is where it belongs. If you feel there are others that should be moved send me an email with the thread URL's and I will be happy to look at them. None of us are perfect and it is possible that some were missed.
  10. This post is open again. As long as the respect guidelines are followed it will remain open.
  11. Well the guidelines do suggest that if your cache is not listed you can take it to the forums. You can also write to appeals@geocaching.com and have it reviewed on a higher level. There is no problem with bringing a refused cache to the forums. Michael
  12. The problem has been reported and they are working on it. Thank you for your patience.
  13. Actually I loaned it to mtn-man to play with. I got it back a few weeks ago.
  14. So now that others have a GPS that follows the barometer can I take mine out of the safety deposit box. I hid it there cus mine was the only one that worked.
  15. Thanks for reporting this. I'll pass it along to the developers.
  16. The question was just brought to my attention. I do not read every thread in this forum. As I have stated before the best way to ask me a question is to email me through my profile. I check emails everyday. I do not check this forum every day. In response to the question at hand. I gave all the detail I was able to give in my first post. I have no additional information that I can give out in response to the question.
  17. No the address is contact@geocaching.com. Keystone gave out the correct address. Depending on what your email said it may take a while to get a response. Feel free to send another one as a follow up to make sure the first one got through.
  18. The system does not allow us to delete the first post without deleting the whole thread. It had to be a system error. we can edit it but not delete it.
  19. If you feel that you are not getting the level of service you should be from the reviewers or forum moderators simply e-mail; reviewers@geocaching.com with your concerns. This e-mail address is only for reporting concerns regarding Cache reviewers and Forum Moderators. Happy Geocaching
  20. I got it to open, as least as far as the password, from the main page. PM me the password and I can fully test it. Not to worry I'm not going to claim a find.
  21. Groundspeak was contacted yesterday by a reputable source that the caches in question were causing a potential problem in central London. The caches were archived while Groundspeak is investigating this matter. Groundspeak will decide how best to deal with this when we complete our investigation. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
  22. Those two steps include the current moderators of the thread in question. The most common way for Groundspeak to identify the need and the candidate is when the current moderator says, "HELP, I need help in this forum. I think we should ask (secret name here) to help me in this forum". Normally the current mod/mods are the ones best suited to make a recommendation.
