  1. I got a lock the other day in my living room. It tracked my pacing back and forth across the room. Weird.
  2. Where does this nonsense come from? Why is it always assumed that bushwhacking will damage the forest? I think you should run out right now and KILL every animal the has legs and refuses to use the trail system. I guess it's easier to spout that kind of BS than it is to engage any brain cells and really think. Not to mention those persons who created those trails in the first place.
  3. I heard 24 with a few extra. 29 should be close. Who knows how many are really up there, NORAD? I think you may be able to use 18 in an aircraft. With a great speed you may also need more signals. I've almost filled the 12 bars on my NAVTECH, but not for long.
  4. I see that both these programs have a great following and support. I installed them briefly and they look very similar. Are they competing or complimentary programs? I noticed they both open GPX files which I have been unable to get, but I tried some of the demos. I see that the programs allow you to view a webpage type interface of the information. The largest difference I've seen is one views inside the program and the other calls IE (which I don't particularly like). Without getting into a war... I'm wondering if the experience users can outline which program they use, and what features they utilize the most. Does anyone use both, which features do they feel are stronger in each? Thanks!
  5. Thanks, that helps me believe what I want to do is actually possible... And the link helps greatly! Let me add that it would be awesome if I would be able to use the GPS I purchase in my notebook PC as well. I got this idea from the fact that the software you directed me to has a version for both the PC and the PDA. Ha! Thanks!
  6. I'm looking between the Pharos and Navtech because I'd like something to use the car primarily. I think I need to find a compatible software product to do Geocaching. Let me know if I'm wrong. I'm leaning towards the Navtech because it seems like a sweet single unit (No CF in the 5550). It actually does add a CF slot though. The SDIO cost too much, $350 without software (suggested price). The Navtech goes for a little over $200 on eBay. I KNOW I want vehicle GPS, and I THINK i'd like to do some Geocaching. If I get hooked on the geocaching I'd be willing to buy a sweet handheld GPS later. For now I'd like to use what I have, and buy something for what I KNOW I want to do that the hobbie can piggy-back on. Any help is appreciate, thanks.
