if I wanted to change my user name & still keep credit for the caches I have found, how would I do this ?My curent user name is huskyjerk after my favorite fishing lure, but when I tell my friends it they get the wrong impression (I could loose a few pounds) LOL, my delima

I joined as a free member under the name ( Huskyjerk ) which is the name of my favorite fishing lure made by Rapala. Now I find not very many people know this and I would like to change my call name to something that does'nt make me sound like a JERK!! Prpbably should have thought that out sooner ( the old hindsite thing! ) is this possable without starting all over? I would still like to keep my credit of my finds to date. and do not see a way of fixing this on my account page. Your help on this matter would be greatly apreciated,----THANX, and HAPPY HUNTING!

I thank each and every one of you that replied on my subject, as it is important to me. I took them "Grandkids" with me this evening for a evening stroll in a nearby park. we found 1 cache and took nothing but left a new hotwheels car. the next one was our first micro rhino tube. and I think they got more of a kick out of finding that little thing then any of the others!!!!! maybe rhey are finilly geting the idea

I am a nubie at geocacheing, mater of fact I probly did'nt even spell it right. I understand that the "true" porpose of the sport is to get out and enjoy the outdoors, and even more so to make it a family affair. I bought my gps with this very idea. I wanted to take my grandchildren on nice little hikes, and let them find some "treasures" as it was explaind to me , and I was told to take something, and leave something of equal or greater value. So I went and bought a bunch of $1.00 items at the dollar store and thought I would start from there and see if they would do. Much to my dismay out of 30 caches that I have visited my grandchildren have only seen 2 item they thought even worth taking and are not even inteteste in coming with me anymore!! I feel it's sad when people are so cheap all they leave is there bussiness card, i've even found a beer bottle cap!!! most of the stuff is penny items, not to hard to leave something of GREATER VALUE than that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!you would think a person could at least scrape up a buck to keep the sport alive, and kids wanting to go out insted of being glued to the tv.I think my gps is going to get dust on it reel quick. 1.00

I just purchased this garman etrex venture hc and while reading the owners manual it sounds as if I need to buy dounloads before I can even use it? all I wanted to do is go find a "Treasure" with my grandson in the nearby parks. is it ready to go? or do I need another 100.00 map?

I bought the etrek venture hc 136.68$ out the door, but i just have a reg lap top. comes with ubs cable.

I just joined and would like to enjoy the wonderful world of geocaching,but am all ready in a pickle. have picked out and orded my gsp unit , but do not know what coordanances to give as my home that I am asked for to set up my account as I am in Flordia for the winter, ( at my Daughters home ) and wont be home in Michigan till sometime in spring to get the coordanances needed.
