For sale: Magellan Sportrak Pro edition GPS. This is an older model GPS but it does the trick. I am including a $45.00 map CD of Canada (Mapsend Topo) which has streets/topo info. I am also including a serial to USB cable, so you can connect the GPS to your computer. Uses two AA batteries and lasts a full day of caching. (I received a newer model GPS (etrex) as a gift, and therefore selling this unit). Selling for $50.00 + shipping (somewhere under $10). Paypal only. Will ship same day as payment received. PM if interested.

Hello again, newb question. (I just installed cachemate) When I go to GSAK to send cache info to my Palm M500 (via File>Export>CacheMate PBD File) I click "Generate" ...it does it's thing then when I click "OK" all I get is a Red X pop-up that says "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library. Runtime Error Program:C\ProgramFiles\palmOne\quickinstall.exe Abnormal Program Termination This window sits on top of the Palm One quickinstall window. Any thoughts? I am stumped and very frustrated. Thanks again..

Nevermind.... I found this site that pretty much explains it. http://www.floridacaching.com/index.php?op...20&Itemid=9

I just bought a Palm M500 on ebay in order to go paperless. I have GSAK installed on my PC. Is that enough or do I also need to install Cachemate in order to use the PDA for that purpose? Thanks, the newbie

Good day! Before I run out and get a PDI of some sort do any of you use your cell phone for this purpose? I stumbled upon a website that claims it can download pocket queries to your phone. Anybody? Anybody? Thanks Oh, here is the site: http://ppquery.com/

I own an ancient Magellan sportrak pro with mapsend. If I upgrade to pro membership, is there a way to send geocache co-ordinates directly to the gps without having to enter the numbers manually? I see on the main page that "send to gps" only works for Garmin gps's. Is that what GSAK is for? So that it can work for non-garmin gps's? Thanks.

Thank you. Just what the Doctor ordered. I thought Legend GPS's were a line of Gps's lol. Cheers

I have a Magellan Sportrak pro (V3.03) that was given to me. It has no cables etc. I ordered a data cable on Ebay as well as Mapsend V1.00e TopoCanada. I have read there is a firmware update (5.0), but there does not seem to be any support from Magellan. Is there a site where I can download the firmware from, and is it really required? WAAS seems to be enabled, and so far (40) caches are usually within 3-5 feet, so there are no accuracy issues. I ordered the Mapsend software and cable so that I can plan routes etc before I head out of the house. Will the mapsend software work without the firmware update? Thanks in advance.

I have had pretty good accuracy with my old Sportrak. I find moving slowly towards the cache when within 30 feet helps alot with the actual error. Hold it high above your head too. Usually GPS shows within 3 feet of cache when found. Good Luck

I am thinking of upgrading from a Magellan Sportrak Pro (with no usb cable) to a Garmin 60cx. What kind of software program would I need in order to "draw out" a hiking route on Google maps etc and then transfer the route to the GPS. Is that kind of software already incl in the box? I just need the lat/long coords from the pc on the gps and do not want a detailed topo/city Navigator on the gps itself. Or do I need Garmin MapSource Trip & Waypoint Manager, and will that work with google maps etc? Thanks

Since they are both good units as far as I can tell from researching. I would say go with what your own heart/gut tells you. Good luck

http://www.thesource.ca/estore/Product.asp...product=1947010 Is this just a City Navigator update? I.E. do you need an original map (City Navigator NT, North America). Or can you buy this and use on a basemap C60csx/Oregon 300? Thanks

Thanks for the info. Regarding getting the DVD over the SD card, why does it give you more flexibilty? Thanks again JW

Good Day! When buying a Garmin C60SCX the website says it comes with a preloaded map of streets, highways etc. Then it says you can buy a "City Navigator" program. Is that an upgraded more detailed version of the preloaded maps? I would like to use the C60SCX for driving also... Thanks

Is it possible to download routes that others have posted so that you may hike the same route? (Not searching for a cache, but just routes that take you through areas of interest (city/country). Perhaps with 3-4 stops along the way, where you could bring a printout along or download text explaining the points of interest? Just wondering where to go for this. Thanks JW

I second this. There is a new edition from the L2D CE (Generation Q5) out... The FENIX LD20 Q5. It Packs a lot of power in a small package. Could not be happier. http://www.amazon.com/review/product/B000Y...howViewpoints=1
