Howdy-- been a decade since finding a few hundred caches, ready to start up again. Have handheld GPS, did lots of downloading to them, but now, SMARTPHONES exist!! Would like the Premium Trial, but was a premium member before smartphones were a thing, literally a decade ago, would this disqualify me? Thanks, Cheers, and Happy Caching.

Hi-- brand new to Geocaching, trying to get my Sportrak Map (grey) to use EasyGSP for downloading waypoints from geocaching.com, but I have only a WinXP Home Edition laptop which has only USB, and does not have a serial port. :-( I have a USB-->Serial converter but this won't work, EasyGPS says the port is "Receiving data from an unknown source" although no other USB devices are connected. Config: Using EasyGPS 1.3.7, and my older Sportrak still has the original Rev 4.06. (I do have the latest Magellan 5.34 download but can't upgrade for same reason... it goes through all 4 COM ports without success.) Have installed a trila version of Virtual Port Emulator from http://www.eltima.com/purchase/vspdxp/ which should have created COM1 and COM2 (they show up in the Windows 'mode' DOS command) but still no luck. If this is a no-go on USB then may need to get a different GPS unit, as I plan on being in Europe in the Spring and hoped to use it there... so any recommendations on a GPS for <$150 US that will accept a USB connection would be appreciated!
