  1. I recently moved. All new nearby caches, cool. I had already found pretty much every cache within a few miles of my old house, now I'm working on the new house area. Questions. How big is your found circle? If you drew a circle around your home, how far do you have to go till you have an unfound cache? Or, have all of your finds been elsewhere, and you have not bothered to search locally? I could figure a city dweller heading to the country, etc.
  2. I am having trouble sending caches to my Delorme PN-20 using Firefox. I installed the PlugIn; I am on a new machine since the last time I used the send feature. Then, when I try again, it is still prompting to install the PlugIn. I have tried 5 times. So I tried IE, and it worked fine. So it must be a problem with Firefox? Any ideas? I hate Internet Explorer.
  3. My brother in law has received an Onix 200cr as a gift. There does not seem to be a way to import waypoints or tracks easily. My thought, if I could take a .gpx file and change it into whatever Bushnell uses. I can't be the first person who thought Bushnell was stupid for not including a way to import. Does anyone know a workaround or a program that would work?
  4. Did the same thing, tonight. Headed to a cabin in the woods with family for next week. Downloaded ALL caches within a few miles of the cabin and planned State Park visit. Love it. gotta love it.
  5. Are Topo 8.0 and your PN-40 communicating? Can you cut maps and transfer them to your 40?
  6. Looks like you need to get Topo 8 and your PN-40 communicating first. I had the same problem with my PN-20 after switching laptops.
  7. I have been a map nerd for years. Hunter for longer. I meticulously plan hunting trips with all of the usual tools online and off. Got a GPS many years ago, but it was really basic and did not survive Y2K. Have been using a Delorme LT-20 and laptop in my truck daily for work related routing for many years as a Home Inspector. Even carried the laptop in a backpack and taped the LT-20 to my hat to map around my hunting cabin. (My wife still makes fun of me for it). Got my Delorme PN-20 for my birthday. Refused to try Geocaching. Thought it was just going to be "too nerdy". Then I made the mistake of describing it to my kids as "treasure hunting". The light in their eyes at the idea of finding hidden treasure was enough for me to try it as "practice for real GPSing." Now I have taken my brother in law and nephew and getting really excited for the weekend. My wife even likes it and was disappointed she was out of town for the weekend and missed the first nano find. What a fun game, hobby, distraction, tool, exercise, passion, hike.....
