  1. Just like to add a little hint to add to small containers even large ones. I am sure everyone knows about those little moisture bags in things like bacon bits or jerky..... Sew up a few bags to size of container that have rice and salt in them that will absorb the sweating moisture that many tightly sealed containers have troubles with. Depending on the climate you may have to change them now and again but that is a part of maintaining your hides right?
  2. Sent in our first one yesterday afternoon and still waiting. Funny that this was first post on board because I was going to ask same question.
  3. Funny how just one word can stimulate so much conversation. I saw a caption under a herd of cows that said.... "I wonder if there called mooooggles ." Just like a bunch of muggles they stand around and watch your every move. And you can still use the associated verbs too. All and all use what you want or don't use it.. Kinda like live and let live.
  4. Confused here? Is Fleder a pm or non-pm. I thought only pm's could make cache hides? and or get gps coords? Sure sounds like he/she is pm by the posts. I know this is a thread of deleted logs by the guy/gal based on non-logging and non-pm. If so why can't someone just delete all of the offending Fleder LIZZARD posts logs caches etc... He/she seems to be acting exactly like his supposed profile is ademently against.
  5. Not being a premium member long perhaps my .02 cents aren't worthy but here it goes. Was introduced to this activity by our cousin. Registered as normal to log and find new cashes. Discovered that being a premium member was the only way I could get downloads for GPX. No problem.... Also figured I could also have fun with making my own hides..... Great I'm off in the realm of Geo-caching and having a great time. I sure did not think that by spending my $30 that I was now a member of an elite and prestigious group with above the door mat snobbery. I believed that Our $$$$ was for a great group of people who manage and keep track of the web site so that we as a person/family/group could enjoy an activity that drags our velcro hind ends of the couch. 3 cheers for all those who take life with a grain of salt and make there time here worth while and joyful. To those who need to pick/prod/beat down and de-humanize everything...
  6. Kaaa Ching is our cache frase for a find then walk away and let other look.
  7. Well let's see...... The overall cost and technical knowledge of the diving world is certainly enough to make it fairly exclusive and dangerous sport. There is a cache in Lake Chelan down about 115ft or so in an old vehicle driven into the water years ago. I still think that caching should be kept simple in design and only hard to find, not masked by dangerous and expensive obsticals to find.
  8. I got an E-trex Ledgend and my husband got Lowrance XOG from the jolly old guy. Going on our fist road trip for caches.
  9. Thanks to all who have welcomed us. Looking forward to our trip south to Cali.
  10. Thanks for your comments, Rcman2 and I did try to find some in our snow cover land. With out really knowing what were doing we didn't find anything our first day out. Rcman2 took a little more time lurking around the web page and found it's right there telling you attributes showing snow flake.................silly us. Again Thanks smile
  11. We are in snow country and have resolved to the fact that we look for caches that have been found recently. If there has been little or no activity on a cache then it is probably in hibernation till spring..
  12. Hello all Cachers. First I hope this board isn't like many others I have experienced. Attacked or scrutinized at every turn by people who seem to think what they have to say or correct you on is more important. That being said I look forward to ennjoying this fun activity and meeting others both here on this forum and out in the field. I am wondering if any others out there are using a Lowrance XOG. We use it with our Garmin Etrex Ledgend. The XOG has wonderful navigation to cache locations and the Garmin gets to the hands on spot. The XOG is a cross-over and can be used for marine, hand held and vehicle. We have found 10 caches since starting and are going on a trip from north central wa to norther california in a couple days and will spend 2 days searching...
  13. In the operator hand book the unit does need you to input what type of batteries you are installing. Might have something to do with the troubles.
