  1. I was going to make my own, and I would buy a nicer gps if I $350. As long as I use the active antenna in the recevier I'm ok then? And about the time dealy. If it's only two feet away in my pocket, It wont make too much of a difference anyway, will it? So I'm assuming that if they sell them, they must be ok if I follow part 5 of fcc regs?
  2. That's cool. So the account was just banned because it was over?
  3. I'm a bit confused... Who is Project APE? What were the special caches about? Why is this member banned?
  4. Today I thought about making a lantern battery powered gps amplifier and repeater so I could get a GPS signal from under trees and indoors. Is there any laws or regulations that would keep me from doing this?
  5. heheh... It's real simple. Reach in your wallet, pull out a buck, and send it to: ...
  6. A tad off topic but: Garmin's New GPS Scroll down to the bottom of the page.
  7. Because I don't have a data cable, I have to do it the slow way...: Turn it on, and then after the little animation, hold enter. The "Mark Waypoint" screen should come up. Hit up and enter, and change the name to whatever you feel comfy with, then go down and press OK. You should be back at the "Mark Waypoint" screen. Then go all the way down to the coordinates and press enter. Change them to what it says on the cache page, then go down and press OK. Then go up to where the guy says "OK" and press enter. When you want to find your way there, press page until you get to the menu, then down one where it says waypoints and press enter. Find the waypoint you just saved in one of the tabs and press enter. Select the waypoint and press enter again. Select GOTO and you're on your way!
  8. Man, and I thought my Palm IIIc was getting old! Although, I still use a OKI 900 cell phone. They don't build them any better than that. I would reccomend the Tungsten E. It seems to have great power for the price.
  9. Hi, my name is doug. I was thinking about those metal airgun pellet containers. They are 2" in diameter and 3/4" high and have a screw-on lid. They are also pretty much waterproof. I submerged one and squeezed it together as hard as I could, then let it stay under for awhile. After I took it out and opened it, there was only about four drops of water. They are a bit like the altoids containers, but with a better seal.
