  1. Ok, I found setting my inputs to answers instead of variables fixed my problem. I always seem to find the answer after I ask for help. Maybe next time I'll just ask up front to save all of the searching.
  2. I'm trying to build a cartridge with Urwigo that has the player go to a zone, answer a question then to the next zone. Rinse and repeat. I can't get my question at the first zone to activate the next zone. I can't even get the players inputted name to display, it gives me "a Zinput instance" in place of the name. I've searched and come up with nothing that will help me do what I want to do. Does anyone know of a cartridge I can open that does these simple things so I can see where I'm going wrong.
  3. I was just offering up a possible reason. Didn't go out of my way to see where the server actually was.
  4. The server farm may be in the path of Irene.
  5. My serial number is 28U000XXX and I've had it for almost two months and have had no problems.
  6. Someone posted that theirs was fixed by downgrading and upgrading firmware. It's worth a shot. http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=280448&view=findpost&p=4816796 Edit: Added link to post that talked about downgrading and upgrading brought screen back.
  7. So 3.20 didn't help at all with the screen calibration? Someone had posted about doing a couple downgrades and upgrades and that resolved there screen issues.
  8. I'm glad to see they fixed the spell search. That was incredibly annoying. I wondering if the uresponsive touches refers to the screens that couldn't be calibrated? Which compass display were you using? A dashboard or the actual compass screen?
  9. They do affect the routing if they are the only maps active and the don't have the required routing info to get from point A to point B.
  10. The only complaint I have currently is when doing a spell search. The Montana briefly shows the list currently filtered on what's typed in, for every letter pressed. Minorly annoying but livable.
  11. If you bought the TOPO U.S. 24K - Mountain South, you're problem is that they only cover Arizona and New Mexico. If you're trying with the City Navigator maps, make sure they are enabled. Just because they are on the card doesn't mean they are being used.
  12. Yes you can replace any of the hardwired icons by placing them in the Garmin\CustomSymbols directory. Custom Icon tutorial I find that a 24x24 icon looks best. The found icon isn't included in the list in that link anymore but it still works. You have to name the file Geocache Found.bmp. If the spacing/spelling/capitalization is off, it won't work. I export mine as GPX and have no problem with the comments being included. I use a custom cache name, %mtag="sortdata"%name by %by %children %name: %c_name. For some reason the coordinates don't show correctly when looking at the properties. I opened some of my pictures in Photoshop and Basecamp and the coordinates show correctly there. As an added bonus, Basecamp will place them on the map where they were taken.
  13. I've got class 6 in both my Montana and 550. I did a test a while back and the class 2s were dog slow compared to 4s and 6s.
  14. I'm interested in the part I bolded and colored red. It would be nice to have this added outside of finding a cache. As in a stage of a multi-cache.
  15. I'm looking for plans for a puzzle box that looks like it's made from a 2x4. It has a dovetail joint and slides apart length wise. I thought I saw the plans on here before but cannot find then now. Any help would be appreciated.
  16. Anyone else having profiles being corrupted when using the automotive mount? Twice now when placing my Montana in the automotive mount its copied whatever current profile is active to the automotive profile that it is supposed to change to.
  17. The only unit I know of that will do both is the Garmin Astro 320.
  18. I think your low confidence is because all you see is the people having problems. You never hear of the hundreds or even thousands of units that are working flawlessly.
  19. Send an email to support@Groundspeak.com. It's a problem with the API. I can get the old parking waypoint in both the iPhone app and GSAK using the get geocaches api access.
  20. Chirp Caches 4.16. Beacon Caches Cache owners, please observe the the following requirements: All caches that utilize a beacon must have the "beacon" attribute on the cache page (above). A beacon can be placed in a traditional cache if geocachers have an alternative method to find the cache without using the beacon. If the cache owner does not provide an alternative means of finding the cache, it must be listed as a "mystery cache." Intermediate waypoints using a beacon should be designated as "Stage of a Multi-Cache" Cache descriptions may mention the "Chirp" (a specific beacon) only if the text is brief and does not have overtones of promotion, marketing or advertising, as per our commercial guidelines. There are no plans to add a beacon cache type. You may want to have your reviewer review the listing requirements.
  21. To search attributes, set up a PQ with the attributes you want to search but don't select a day. The just view the list that's returned.
  22. montanabeta@garmin.com for any remaining issues.
  23. What firmware are you currently running? I think the latest firmware may resolve your issues.
