Well, I finally heard back from Magellan today, with good news, they have shipped the missing items to me. I hope to have them by this weekend. Of course I still need to get the MeriColor back from UPS, they finished their investigation yesterday and are shipping the unit back to me. I have to take my hat off to Magellan, they are not too quick to respond, but at least they did come through for me.

I have checked the TSB website, but found nothing about carrying my GPS on an upcoming flight. Does anyone know if it is allowed? I am going skiing next week and thought that it would be cool to take my Meridian on the flight... but it sure would suck if it was confiscated. I will be sure to check with the officials before I try.

I purchased a Mer Color Traveller Pack last week, upon opening it, if found that it was missing the 64mb SD card, batteries, and part of the vehicle mounting bracket. Because the factory seal was intact, the retailer has, for the moment, washed their hands of it (they will replace they unit only after exhausing all efforts with Magellan). Magellan is reviewing the case before they make a decision about replacing this missing items, though after nearly a week, I have heard nothing. On top of all of that, the retailer has requested that UPS investigate the package for signs of tampering. They came and picked it up yesterday, so now I do not even have the base unit to go and explore with. This sucks! Has anyone out there had similar problems with Magellan products? If so, did their Customer Service help out? Thanks

Hello all, I just purchased a Meridian Color, can't wait, it should be here in time for the weekend! As I was sitting here looking at it online, it occured to me... How do I load data onto the cards? I am assuming that I will need to get meself a card reader of some sort, can anyone recommend a decent one? I have never dealt with compact media before. Anyway, Let me know what you think. Thanks

I am about to buy my first GPS reciever and was wondering if anyone could tell me a few things. I am looking at a Meridian (probably color) and various Garmin models (Vista or upcoming 60c/cs), I tend to lean toward Garmin simply because I know more about the company and have used a GPS III in the past, but I like the memory expansion capabilities with the Magellan. The only real downside I can see with the Mag, is the slower aquisition rate. Has anyone found this to be an issue? I have been all over the web reading about these units, but I am kind of overloaded by all of the marketing claims, I figured that I would rather get the opinions of people in the real world who actually use them. Thanks.
