  1. Chuck, I noticed you haven't received any replies to your post. I am having the same problem. Have you figured anything out yet. Would be interested in what you come up with. Paul
  2. Payment is on its way, Clyde. Thanks for the great program. Paul
  3. Thanks for your interest everyone. I decided just to keep it since it's worth more to me than I can get for it. I'll just use it for geocaching. Thanks again. Paul
  4. GentleWhisper, Hopefully we will be on vacation in the UP of Michigan on the 19th! Would love to attend your event, though. Maybe next time. Thanks for the interest in the Visor. Paul

    Warn

Thanks alot Riddlers. That only makes sense. Isn't technology fun?
  6. I'm a little confused by your request, Paul...GSAK can't do anything with maps. It's pretty much waypoint management. Are you trying to export maps (with waypoints)from StreetAtlas to your PDA? Trying to run waypoints from SA through GSAK to your PDA? Trying to export HTML of waypoint information from GSAK to your PDA? We may be able to help with the last two, but probably not the first one (which would need SA expertise).

    Warn

How do I get rid of the "warn" thingy under my username. It's kinda disturbing to me. I don't think I have to be warned about anything! Paul
  8. GSAK and Cachemate!! This is a great combination. Works for me. (Plucker isn't bad either) How do you like your Tungsten T-3? Paul
  9. If you are a premium member and know the zip code where the lake is located, you can enter that code from the geocaching main page. This, as you probably know, will take you to a page with a number of caches listed. Click on the "map it" link at the top of the page. This will bring up a map that you can use to zero in on the lake and find all the nearest caches. Always works for me!
  10. I realize that this is a GPS garage sale, but I have a handheld that I have been using for geocaching, but don't need anymore. It is a barely used Visor Platinum and is in excellent condition. It has the manual, the hot-sync cable and a fellows rubber case. Everything is in excellent working condition. I have replaced it with a Tungsten T-3 because I wanted the ability to store more maps. Anyone interested, please let me know. I'm asking $50 plus s/h. Paul
  11. Waypoints to handheld. I don't have a problem exporting waypoints from GSAK to SA 2004, but when I try to export the map with the waypoints to my handheld, I can't get it to happen. I just get the map with no waypoints. Anyone know what I might be doing wrong? I have a Tungsten T-3, so room is not a problem! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Paul
  12. Robert, I figured that was the deal with the maps. Just making sure. As for Plucker, I will probably just use it for reading e-books and stay with Cachemate for caching. Thanks again. Paul
  13. This is a great program! Thanks alot Clyde. I know Clyde is on a well deserved vacation, so maybe one of the readers can help me out here. I like to look at the little map that has the push-pin showing the location of the cache on the original Geo-caching page. However, when I download the cache into GSAK, that map doesn't show up. I get everything else, as far as I know. I am a premium member and get my PQ's in GPX format. Does this happen to everyone, or do I not have something set right? Second thing. To all you Plucker lovers out there. What do you feel is the advantage of Plucker over Cachemate. I have been using Cachemate for some time now and really like it. I downloaded Plucker the other day and have finally figured out how to use it to display the caching pages on my PDA. It took me a while to get it to work, as I am rather technologically challenged when it comes to things like this! I'm sure I will probably stay with Cachemate, but wanted to give Plucker a try. I would appreciate it if anyone could help me out here. Thanks in advance, Paul.
  14. Whoops!! Just downloaded another querie with 50 caches and it took them all! I guess I only had 20 in the first PQ's. Another cockpit problem solved! Ha. Thanks for everyone's help. Paul
  15. I did register so I could get more files, but am still limited to 20 files at a time. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks for the forum's help. Paul
  16. This has probably been discussed before. If so, I apologize. When I receive my queries I get more than 20 caches at a time. However, as far as I can tell, Cachemate will only receive 20 caches. Is this true? If so, how can I get the remaining cache files onto my handheld? I love the Cachemate program, it is awesome! But, I don't want to miss out on some of the downloaded caches. Can anyone help me? Thanks, Paul
  17. Hi all. This being my first post here, I hope I am not being to repetitious. I know this has been tossed around before, but I did a search and couldn't find anything pertaining to my specific problem. So, here goes! I have a Dell Inspiron 5100 that I plan to use with my Meridian Platinum and Direct Route software. I have a Radio Shack USB to Serial cable (26-183) that I have installed per RS instructions. I have downloaded EasyGPS to use to collect and hopefully install waypoints into my Platinum. Problem is I keep getting error #22 in EasyGPS "No data was received from the GPS", and it tells me to turn off the GPS! By the way I am running the XP operating system. I checked the device manager and it shows the adapter on Com4. However, thats about as far as I can get. Now, please know that I am no computer expert, so I'm sure that it's probably something very simple, but I sure can't figure it out. I still have version 3.12 firmware in my Platinum (haven't upgraded yet). Could this be the problem? Any help you computer gurus could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Paul
