  6. On My Honor I saw this cache pop up in the new listing and after reading it and the note posted by the cache owner I was balling like a baby.
  7. Thrak: You're right. I had one move today in Germany and I tried a recalc and it didn't update. Oh well, I guess we'll just have to sit impatiently and wait.
  8. You do not have to trade TB for TB. If there's one in the cache and you can help it then take it. If you happen to have one you can drop off that's a bonus. I, too, have left some $$$ in a cache when I saw something I really wanted and didn't have a suitable trade.
  9. I recently found a Honda car emblem which I took home and made into a TB: At every cache I find I leave a mini carabiner and CITO kit. I rarely take things unless I plan on making them into TBs.

  11. I like group caching. What we typically do is everyone searches and as soon as someone spots the cache they walk away from it and then call out Found It! We then either decide to keep looking or let the person that first saw it reveal its location.
  12. Yes, absolutely, I leave one in every cache that I find as long as there is enough room.
  13. You can also scale the size when printing from Internet Destroyer. Select File -> Print -> Preferences -> Effects. At least that's how I'm able to do it.
  14. That is kind of odd. I thought perhaps the tracking number was shown on the TB page but it doesn't appear to be. So others don't have to hunt for it: TB Page Link

I discovered something interesting last night - I was looking at some of my TBs and for kicks I clicked the Recalculate Mileage button and the total mileage did update but the cache-to-cache mileage didn't. So if your TB has moved and the total mileage looks off try clicking on the Recalculate Mileage button and see if it updates.
  16. I have phoned a friend once after spending 12+ hours and logging 3 DNFs for the same cache. He didn't tell me exactly where the cache was but he gave me enough hints that the light finally went on and I was able to find the cache. I'll do it again if I ever get that stuck trying to find a cache.

  18. The USA geocoin: I like the coins I have seen so far. I do agree that some are rare and are getting more and more expensive to acquire.
  19. Very good point. I once released a TB that did mean something to me Knee Puck. It was a leather slider off of my motorcycle racing leathers. When I gave up racing I decided to release it as a TB so other motorcycle enthusiasts could enjoy it but it went missing shortly after I released it. I'm trying to come up with something I can use to release with the copy tag but I haven't figured anything out yet.
  20. I know that I like it when I see photos of my TBs while they travel so I try to take photos of TBs I have. I haven't been as good about it as I should be though . Regarding the mission I do what I can to help the TB along its way. I figure even if I only move it a few miles as long as I'm moving it in the direction it wants to go I'm helping it out. I haven't really noticed too much of a difference between my TBs that have specific missions and those that don't -- they all seem to disappear equally well
  21. I would love to see the folks that put out the current geocaching coin put out a series of official state coins. The design would be very simple. The outline of the state on the front and the geocaching logo and tracking number on the back. I would buy two of these for each state where I have found caches in a heartbeat. I would keep one for my personal collection and release the 2nd in the state where it belongs with a goal that it only travel in that state. By keeping the design simple it would hopefully keep the costs down and allow organizations within each state to release their own version of a state coin if they wish.
  22. TBs can and do go missing - it's a fact of life. If you're really worried about one going missing then don't bother buying the first one. I would say about 1/3 of the TBs that I have releasesed have gone missing. What I did was wait a reasonable time and then re-released the TB with its copy tag and a new hitchhiker. Also, don't release a TB with anything attached that you're especially fond of. Most of my TBs are things I've found in caches.
  23. I think the geocoin forum would be a better one for this post. If I follow you correctly you found some coins in caches and instead of placing them in another cache you want to trade them for other coins you haven't found yet. Is that right? If so, hang on a second 10..9..8..7..6..5..4..3..2..1 (momma always said to count to 10 before you say anything mean), what I think you're doing is wrong and if I was the owner of one of the coins you have I would be upset with this practice. If you found the coin in a cache then you should return it to a cache so others can go find it. You are not the owner of the coin so you have no right to hang onto it.
  24. Bigwaves: You can get your TBs back without extramask's assistance. Just use the Grab log to do so.
  25. Also remember 35mm film containers make great CITO kits. Take one and stuff a plastic bag into it and leave one in each cache you find. Somewhere on the 'net there's a CITO label template you can download to print out labels for each container.
