  1. Is there any chance of getting one of those?
  2. I didn't mean I was interetest in only the back cover of the unit . I have a 60C and was interested in the mount.
  3. I'd move you along. I just wonder if there's any laws that would prohibit the transportation of human remains across state lines and such.
  4. I was able to help a fellow cacher out by retrieving Bluegrass BoogieBug from Fallen and can't get up
  5. oldnavy59: $359. The price is to the left of the picture. OP: If you don't get any takers for the whole package I would be interested in some parts of it.
  6. Another thing that makes a difference is the amount of elevation changes in your area. Where I am there's no too many changes so my topo maps don't look cool like the ones shown on the Garmin web site. I asked them abou that one time and was told that the topo map shown on their web site is showing the Grand Canyon.
  7. ChurchCampDave: Wow - what cache were you hunting when you ran into that gator? I've only run into one snake - at least that I've seen anyways. Anyone know what kind it is?
  8. With rare exception I do all of my caching in paperless mode. Like others I use GSAK and pocket queries to filter out the caches I want to hunt. I then load the caches onto my PocketPC where I read them with GPXSonar and to my handheld and StreetPilot 2610 GPSs. Once I get near to the cache area I use the "If I were hiding a cache here where would I put it mode" to look in likely hiding spots. If that doesn't work I'll take a look at the hint and see if that helps me find it. If I find it I get a smiley. If I don't I log a DNF and go onto the next one.
  9. Link for TB Just in case others are wondering where Spotty is hanging out these days
  10. As best I can tell Beaver Cache is the oldest active cache in Georgia. I don't have any idea if it's the first one every placed in Georgia.
  11. I don't think there's really anything you can do at this point in time. You can email the owner of the cache where the TB is still listed and have him or her list the TB as missing which will remove it from the cache page.
  12. I think it's a great idea and I will do my part to help, etc but to be honest I could care less about logos and jazz like that. I'm located in central Georgia and will be willing to help rescue any stranded TBs in this area.

That's odd, both links worked just fine for me.
  14. Download the file again and after saving it as xxxx.xml rename it BEFORE opening it with EasyGPS. Once you rename it GSAK should import it just fine.
  15. right click on the file, select rename and change the extension from .xml to .gpx and that should work for you.
  16. Some more gems I found this morning while using GSAK: The additional hint is located deep down in the pit of your stomach. Don't park on a hwy. There is plenty of safe parking on pubic land if you approach it right. one hundred miles YOU DIDNT THINK I WAS GOING TO GIVE A CLUE WITH GOOD STUFF LIKE THAT IN THERE DID YOU If you decide to cook at the cache site, you will need to bring a grill. Container is cammo covered. Just a slingshot off the road. Enjoy the walk. This is a great walk in the park, but I think it won't be that easy. Too easy for a hint. you really don't need one it is obviously the only place to hide it. Briers and Poison ivy nearby
  17. Another option is to send an email to contact@Groundspeak.com and give them the GCXXXX code and name of the TB that is missing from the cache and they'll mark it as missing - I would only do this after you've contacted the cache and TB owner and given them an opportunity to remove the bug from the page.
  18. Did you select the option to Zip the PQ before sending it? Some ISPs will block the .GPX file.
  19. There is nothing that would prevent you from putting a TB hotel near the base, assuming you could find a suitable spot, get permission, etc, etc. Here in Warner Robins there are several caches, mostly micro's and smalls, that are located directly across the street from Robins Air Force Base.
  20. My personal favorite: "Hidden in the woods"
  21. send an email to contact@geocaching.com with the bug numbers and account name you want them registered with. Someone at Groundspeak should be able to help you make the switch.
  22. The original owner, the cache owner or a local reviewer can mark the bug as missing.
  23. I like that image they use for the link - way cool!
  24. I have the GPSMap 60C and want to get the bike mount. For now if I want to use it while biking (Fuji Roubaix Pro, Ultegra 9 speed) I just toss it in my jersey pocket. I plan to buy the garmin mount for it one of these days. Although expensive have you considered either the Garmin Edge 205 or the Garmin Edge 305
  25. I love to help TBs move around and have adopted a 30 day rule. If a TB sits in a local cache for 30 days or more I'll grab it up and move it. I figure 30 days gives plenty of time for other cachers to grab, if they're interested.
