  1. The icon cointest is closed and I have chosen a winner! Thanks to everyone who submitted icons and ideas for icons. They were all great but I decided to go with drneal's submission. The main deciding factor was that is is easily recognizable even at such a small size. So congrats drneal, i'll be sending you an e-mail shortly. I'm going to try to figure out another cointest soon!
  2. OOPS! I thought I sent the adoption request to LadyBee last night but I must not have. Sorry about that! I just sent it so now my part is done.
  3. Interesting. I wonder how this will affect those who use stamps.com or other online methods. Hopefully it won't mean we have to actually go to the PO to do an international shipment. I'll have to keep watching and see.
  4. Dang it! You remember that conversation we had a couple of days ago about you getting most of my geocoin budget? Looks like now you'll be getting even more of it! Very nice, can't wait to see the finished coin!
  5. Adoption request from cainrcc received and completed! Adoption request sent to LadyBee4T! Thanks for letting us participate a second time!
  6. Serves you right after you hit me with one! Actually though, Avroair snuck up and got me with one too! Hmmm... I may have to get busy on some paybacks!
  7. I agree!! In my opinion, these are some of the most beautiful coins I've seen. Thanks for making these available! Aww... thanks guys, seeing this has helped a lot on a really bad day. Howlingmoon, check your e-mail.
  8. Same here unless I missed something...
  9. Thanks again to everyone for the great response to this coin! Both RE versions (Nickel/Ble and Gold/Red) and the 4pc XLE set are sold out now, I have just a handful of the 3pc LE sets still available. I'm currently checking into a remint. The remint will be limited quantities of some different color/plating options.
  10. 1 – What is the meaning of the Inuksuk? - An inuksuk (plural inuksuit) (from the Inuktitut: ᐃᓄᒃᓱᒃ, plural ᐃᓄᒃᓱᐃᑦ; alternatively inukshuk in English or inukhuk in Inuinnaqtun) is a stone landmark or cairn built by humans, used by the Inuit, Inupiat, Kalaallit, Yupik, and other peoples of the Arctic region of North America. These structures are found from Alaska to Greenland. This region, above the Arctic Circle, is dominated by the tundra biome, containing areas with few natural landmarks. The inuksuk may have been used for navigation, as a point of reference, a marker for hunting grounds, or as a food cache. The Inupiat in northern Alaska used inuksuit to assist in the herding of caribou into contained areas for slaughter. Inuksuit vary in shape and size, with deep roots in the Inuit culture. Historically the most common type of inuksuit is a single stone positioned in an upright manner. An inuksuk is often confused with an inunnguaq, a cairn representing a human figure. There is some debate as to whether the appearance of human or cross shaped cairns developed in the Inuit culture before the arrival of European missionaries and explorers. 2 – Where are the Olympic Games being held? - Vancouver, BC Feb. 12-28, 2010 3 – Today’s (Dec. 29) Torch Run started “where” and will end “where”? Started 10/30/09 in Victoria, BC and will end 2/12/10 in Vancouver, BC after traveling nearly 28,000 miles, the longest distance ever traveled by the torch in a single country. 4 – When and where was the first Winter Olympic games held? - Jan. 25, 1925 to Feb. 5, 1924 in Chamonix, France 5 – What games will be held from March 12 to the 21st 2010 - 2010 Winter Paralympics, officially known as the X Paralympic Winter Game They will be held in Vancouver and Whistler 6 – What are the names of the official mascots of the 2010 Olympic Games? Sumi, Quatchi, Miga 7 – Community Celebrations will be held at a nearby community, where? This one is tough to narrow down since many communities are having celebrations. Whistler is hosting athlete medal presentaions, West Vancouver will have community celebrations all 17 days, Calgary, Surrey, Richmond, and others are also all having celebrations. 8 – Ok time for the hard one, who will is the final torch bearer to the Community Cauldron Lighting ? - I'm going to go with this although I'm not completely sure it's right! Olympic Gold Medalist, Katie Weatherston who is from Thunder Bay All correct answers as determined by me posted here will win, now I’m off to see the Olympic Torch see you later this afternoon, I’ll check those answers then or give you a hint (don’t think you’ll need any ) kini_ont[/size]
  11. And the winner is... Mom and I have spent the last hour reading all of the submissions and laughing like crazy at some of them! There were 352 names submitted! Of those, Betsy was the most common suggestion with Carol/Carole (sorry, bad memories associated with this one!) and Sunny tied for second. I like Glinda for it's tie in with the witches thing and Glinda always makes me think of gold so it's good for the color too. Bubbles and Calypso were tied as my second choices. Thanks everyone for playing! Congrats Maine Family, e-mail me and LMK if you want your coin mailed or released.
  12. I dunno what I'd do about the trackables but you can bet that smashed and crumpled energy/granola bar and those chocolate coins that are melted to the bottom of the ammo can would look a whole lot more appealing than they do under normal circumstances!
  13. Cointest Closed! I'll go through all of them tomorrow and pick a winner. I have a pretty good idea which name it'll be but want to make sure I didn't miss any!
  14. LOL! It's VERY hard to offend me so don't worry about that, I'm loving all the suggestions. Have a great sleep Nikos! Only 2.5 hours to go!
