Just wanted to find out how many of us there were here, and if anyone wanted to get together sometime and go geocaching.

I hate it when people don't even read the rules before breaking them, then start forum topics to blame the archival of their cache on the volunteer cache reviewers, and make false or incomplete statements of "fact." I hate it when I HAVE read the rules, and I make up a cache that FOLLOWS all the rules, and I still get hassled about a cache, making me feel like this is all BS. Approvers should know the area they are approving, otherwise they will not approve something because it may seem like it's not within the rules, when in all actuality, it is.

It is somewhat of a volume based issue. One thing you don't want if for people to burn out. The larger, more active states have two people. Some reviewers take one state and then break a second state in half to cover areas that they know. Some cover a state by themselves and others cover a couple of states or more. It just depends on how much time a given reviewer has to offer. For example, I do two states on my own, I share one with another reviewer and one with two other reviewers. One that I do on my own has a moderate number of new caches and one has a very low number. Here's another question, how do you become an approver?

I'm curious, how do you decided how many approvers you need for one area?

I still haven't gotten a reply to this. I e-mailed them about 2 weeks ago asking the same question, and nothing. I guess Jeep doesn't want my business.

I hate it when moderators that aren't familiar with the area (or live anywhere near the area) hassle you about a cache you place that isn't breaking any of the rules!
