  1. Hi, Ohio cachers!

I was lookin' through some old pictures and remembering all the fun I've had when I found this one. My little squirrel brain just can't remember who this girl is. Does anyone out there know her?

I think the picture was taken at a Christmas party, maybe in 2005 or 2008 or thereabouts, but I'm not sure.

I asked Richard, but he just said "Like my old pappy used to say: I've got a good memory, it's just short." B)

Richard, that is in fact my daughter. The year is most likely 2004 or 5. My family and I moved to Maryland in 2007.

  2. My friend Ambrosia just called me with this sad news. I see that I'm in two of the group photos that she posted. Remembering those happy days in Allanon's company brought a smile to my face amidst the sadness.

I saw Allanon briefly at GeoWoodstock a few weekends ago. I regret not talking to him at the Friday evening event - I figured I would "catch up with him later." Now there will be a wait until that happens.

In the Bible, Moses tells us to "number our days aright." It is not about the number of days we live, but how we live our number of days. Allanon touched a good number of people from the worldwide geocaching community, including this soul stuck in a Cincinnati hotel room.

It's not about the numbers, except for that number of people.

I remember this sentiment well, sir.. and I am sure that those who knew Brian feel the same as we all did when Eric passed. I, too, only knew Brian from the forums, but I knew from those who knew him personally what an amazing man he was...

  3. Wow. We moved her north of Baltimore nearly 2 years ago. I have seen and heard of Druid Hill Park, but never really looked very closely at it, either for caching or from the historical perspective. From what little I know of the area, I do suspect that the safety of the area may well be the reason why the lack of caches exists. However, I have to thank the OP for bringing this cache, and it's page to my attention. I think I just found my "current fascination".

  4. t may be difficult to fulfill your maintenance obligations if you place a cache while traveling on vacation or otherwise outside of your normal caching area. These caches may not be published unless you are able to demonstrate an acceptable maintenance plan. It is not uncommon for caches to go missing, areas to be cleared, trails to be blocked or closed, objects used for multi-cache or puzzles to be moved or removed, etc. Your maintenance plan must allow for a quick response to reported problems.

  5. Hi to all the Ohio cachers! I'm a new Cleveland cacher - just got my GPS this week. Took the kiddos out today and we found three. It was a blast and hope to continue . :anicute:

    Elaur,

PLEASE be sure to check into NEOGEO, and their forums at www.geochums.com .

It will be invaluable to you.

    Good luck!

  6. I too am going to miss you, Katie :anicute:

I hope J gave you that big hug from me last night! I wish I could have been there. I'm really gonna miss you on my Hair-Brained group outings. I'll always have fond memories.

Good luck to you and the family in Maryland.

    Cheers ... Jim

She DID, Jim! Hopefully she'll give you mine back.

Now...who am I gonna give all this spongebob stuff too???? :P

  7. I am too. For the last year, I have been in a Northern KY suburb of Cincinnati.

At the end of this month, tho...I move to Maryland.

I just happened to catch this. Now I'm going to have to travel a lot further for your 2k event. :anicute: Seriously though, it sounds like this is going to be a great new start for ya, and congrats on the new job...I know that's been a long time coming.

Thanks, Marc. I'm just sorry I won't get to say goodbye to the lot of you....

I heard that, but thought it was just an ugly rumor. Someone make you an offer you can't refuse?

Now where am I gonna get four-leaf clover bubles?

Wish you the best out of your move. Hey, does this mean you have a whole new set of caches to go after?

Yeah...not a rumour. I was just not sayin' much so I didn't "jinx" it. But, it is confirmed that I will be starting the 29th of this month, so I plan to drive down on the 27th. I have a whole mess of stuff that I had been collecting for GeoBash, but I won't be able to make it this year.

That is an expensive way to add another state, isn't it?

Actually, I added it to my map when they flew me in to interview. But there are a couple other states in close proximity.

This is a pic of my 2005 Jeep Rubicon Unlimited coming back from a cache, yes there is a cache behind the Jeep a bit, in the Osceola National Forest. My Jeep is a TB and is also on the front of my first geocoin.

This is a great picture and gets my vote.

    I also place a vote for nolefan9399 .

  10.

I can't imagine being the ONE person responsible for approving all the caches in the state.

If the state is so big it requires more than one volunteer, then I agree with Doug that the additonal volunteer should be a Hoosier...not somebody 23,764 miles to the east of us.

are those miles calculated using DST? :)
