  1. I often wondered when log books from caches would follow tb's then coins into event. I see that day has already arrived
  2. I am happiest when people logging my caches state that the coords were bang on.
  3. Did you miss this one? More like the first sentence ending with a ? is the question we're getting there
  4. I have to agree with Landsharkz. If you were to base it on cache density, climate and diversity of terrain then southern Vancouver Island is most definitely the caching capital of Canada. I have to agree with these guys and I'm from Alberta. I've was there in mid Feb. on a caching holiday ( my xmas gift from my wife ). If I were to get on a plane today for another trip, in Canada, it would be to Victoria. It is easy to make that claim when no one else has but don't be suprised if you're challenged on it.
  5. Because it's a valid response, No it's not. She did nothing to answered the OP's question. Instead she slammed the the activity of FTFing
  6. WHOA..... Let me get this straight. Looking at your profile, you've been caching for close to 3 years in the States where you reside. You have 800 plus finds. And your first ever post on the Gc forums is on the Canada segment to slam a part of geocaching that many do enjoy? You've done nothing to asnwer the OP's question. Why did you post a reply? I don't get it
  7. I would never claim a FTF on a cache I was present for during placement. We do however sign the log book on the second page, leaving room for thr true FTF cacher. We then wait until the ftf cacher logs on line before we enter our logs and usually we make it clear that we signed ahead of time and do give credit to the ones that found it after it listed. I can give you an example if you wish. That is pretty much a given amoung the cacher I travel with. Some will say that the first person to sign the log is it but I will argue that it's the first one that found it fairly, without prior knowledge from the cache owner. If you know for a fact it was signed prior to listing with the aid of inside information then I would suggest you add to your log that you are the ftf after the cache being listed . Being "handed" a ftf would diminish my achievements in the first to find race.
  8. I don't think it is cheating at all. There are many teams out there ranging from a few to several. If that is how they wish to tack thier efforts ,so be it. The only time I can see this to be an issue is in the unlikely event that they insist on comparing numbers. At that point it's comparing apples and oranges. You can't really compare the achievments of a single cacher to the efforts of two or more people. I find that most teams are out there having fun and tracking thier numbers as a benefit to themselves. The only numbers you should be concerned about are your own. Everyone else is playing by thier own set of rules. not yours
  9. Does this mean we're going to have naked people on the alberta coin?
  10. Well, how about Three Sisters in the summer or Three Sisters in the not-so summer Summer. I get enough reminders of winter. What does a brass cap look like again?
  11. I'd like to see mountains on it. ...well ok I insist
  12. This thread might give you some info. Anyone Wants To Make A Canadian Stargate Tb Cache?, Themed cache to "mail" TB`s internatio.
  13. From the outside looking in this seems to be way over the top. Looking at the 1st cache on ths list I see the that the owner logged in on Feb 6th. One day after the sba note is posted a found log reads They need to SBA this cache why?? On another cache this note is the 1st sign of problems after an endless string of finds and take note of the writer stating he would look in on it when in the area. Perhaps some people would like to adopt some of these caches if in fact there is a need IMHO this CITO group needs to rethink their course of action
  14. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/ look for this doc on right of the page > English (micro) (doc) (132 logs doc) hope thats what you are looking for
  15. First To Log. I see it as "sour grapes" or someone pouting because they missed the ftf I'm guessing soon we will start seeing people posting a note on a new cache saying FTPN ( first to post note)
  16. Welcome to the other side of the game
  17. I could care less who logs on line first as long as my name is 1st in the cache log. I get a big laugh out of the locals that will log "stf but 1st to log" I get this mental picture of a spoiled little kid pouting because they missed out on the candy bar. I log them when I get home but I don't rush home to do it.
  18. Sounds like the only thing Ontario about this coin is the name and a local " frontman" WHAT A JOKE!!!!!
  19. I could be mistaken but it looks like it's the explorist 500 for that price AFTER mail-in rebate Costco-explorist 500
  20. embra could you send that same info on the fix this way also? thanks
  21. that would be it. LOC only gives you the coordinates.
