  1. Wow, Ford VS Chevy, oh wait...you settled that one, you bought a Nissan As a fellow Houstonian welcome to the madness. I own a meridian that I LOVE on road-trips due to the expandability of the SD cards, and I also have a little yellow e-trex that I love due to its size. Not much help am I? It is hard to get away from the "growth potential" of the SD cards on the Magellan units, but Garmin has some plusses too. Come tothis event this Saturday, and I am sure you will get mor thought than you want on these two units.
  2. briansnat's ears were burning while I was posting
  3. Michelle and I use camelBack Hydration back packs. We have never noticed a funny flavor but some people have. No matter what the brand, our personal fav. is a hydration pack. I have seen some at Sam's Club for around $20.00 and you can find some in the $100.00 rang too.
  4. Welcome welcome. There are a few places you can get this information. Texas Geocaching CentralTexasGeocachers - Yahoo Group
  5. I have heard numbers from 300+. We were there, but not counting heads. If you can make it, you will not regret it.
  6. Just needed to pull this up from page 3 Should be a few new cachers, now that Christmas has come and gone.
  7. If you are talking about "Katy" near Houston, and will be comming up I-10, these caches are all in Stephen F. Austin State Park. The park has a $3.00 per person "Day use Fee". GCMC6M GCMC6J GCMC6X GC7573 GC56A4 This one is near by and near a very cool Historicle sight. GCJ4AH And this one is a restop micro on the way to Katy from the others, GCMC6Y You can also post your question at Texas Geocaching, San Antonio Geocachers yahoo Group, and CentralTexas Geocachers Yahoo Group
  8. Add Texas to the list of supporters. We are hosting a weekend event for New Years and will keep the family in our thoughts and prayers. Hopefully when we return to the “computer world” on Sunday, there will be GREAT news posted here. Please let us know if there is anything we can do down South. Scott and Michelle
  9. jet Boils are very cool. That is next on the "list". for lightweight hikes, I like the esbit set up.
  10. My Christmas started early with a new day pack from my employer, then I recieved the REI Half Dome 2 tent A new light weight parka for caching in winter and rain and some windproof, waterproof, breathable pants for rainy day caching But the "bestest" news was finding out that I will be an uncle, and the projected due date is on my birthday. The day will not come soon enough when Michelle and I write in a log that we found a cache with our nephew
  11. Welcome to the addiction/sport. I am on the North side, but work near Westtheimer and Voss. We are also having an event cache this weekend in Sealy at SFA State Park out I-10 towards San Antonio. Safe from the City New Years Eve (weekend) Event , we would love to have you with us, even if you can only make it for a day. Also check out Texas Geocaching Association
  12. If a "note" is posted on the page, will that do the trick? If so, you could post a note on each one, then delete it. Just an idea
  13. We will often TNLNSL, but *try* to write a log that describes our adventure. I am sorry if it gripes you that we choose not to trade very often, but it gripes me when others try to dictate how we should play the game. Sorry just had to get that off my chest.
  14. These are great jacket and can be found for under $100.00. REI has them for $69.83.
  15. Not sure what your definition of “cheap” is, but I just saw an add in the Office Max circular for the Etrex legend for around $150 +/- .
  16. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just blew Dr. Pepper all over my key-board TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO darn funny
  17. WOW, and I thought I had "issues" with Wind talkers". I think the fly and I will get along nicely I too want to see National Treasures, but also think it is a "cheap" recreation of another popular novel with a hint of Masonic mystery thrown into the mix.
  18. yes, please do not buy any more Magellan products! Oh, and do not worry toooooo much about the Americans that work for Magellan in California, and at the repair facility in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I am sure their families will understand why they got a pink slip.
  19. That is WAY TOOOOOOO COOOOOOL Would you mind sharing what company you used to make them? Oh please oh please?
  20. I cannot speak for everyone but some cachers may be holding these “virgin” YJTB’s to be used as FTF prizes after they have been forgotten. I do not know for sure that this is happening, but it is possible. Michelle and I were shipped 20 YJTB’s to circulate around Southeast Texas and I can assure you we handed all of them out at an event specifically for this purpose, well except for the one we held for Snoogans because he was playing around in California when we had the event, but the other 19 were all passed out as “virgin” YJTB’s and it was up to the “winner” of them to “grab” them from the “owner” and start them on their way. The reason we decided to do it this was simple, we did not FIND the 20 YJTB’s, they were mailed to us from GS, had we “grabbed” them from the “owner” our stats would show that we found 20 of them.
  21. Dang Brian, now I just spit Dr Pepper all over my keyboard, and that carbonation burns like heck in your nose too. My side hurts
  22. I have been running S&T 2004 from my HD for 6 months without any problems. This must be something Billy boy changed after your 2000 version
  23. Good gosh folks...this is not a new concept, just a "new addition" to gc.com. Why all the excitement all of a sudden? It has been around for a while. Thanks for your vision 9key
