  1. Typically frowned upon. But this is a game based on a vast part of integrity. SO you can pretty much do as you like, it's just you and you that know about it.
  2. No, these were in the previous week, but they were logged about a week prior to the error occurring. I do geocache with my iPhone, and I submitted the logs via my phone. I'm wondering if that screwed up something. I wonder if there are different times and what not if the field note is submitted at a different time than the log.
  3. Yeah, I figured that. Has anyone else had trouble with this? I just wondered if it was a common thing that occurs.
  4. I went in tonight and like every other Sunday I requested my finds from my Pocket Queries page. The little button that you can only click once a week. So I got it, and uploaded it into my Geocaching Statistic Tool (By Mac Defender). Everything looks good, numbers wise, finds wise, etc. The only problem, is that the date is off on three separate caches. Now this wouldn't be a huge deal normally, but it caused a gap in my geocaching streak. I went and looked at my finds on Geocaching.com, and they reflect correctly on each of the individual cache pages. So I'm guessing that the data in the .zip file is incorrect for some reason. I live in the MST zone, so I don't know if that will effect it at all. Any ideas?
  5. Just put it in perspective....it could be worse. You could have released this one, and it disappears (which it did). Look up TBH0A0 or visit this link... http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.as...ce-e0e689b8298f
  6. I think this would be a good point to lock this one down. It seems everyone has drawn their lines in the sand. I can't see too much more being contributed to this. I didn't want to incite a huge debate, I just wanted to see what others think about. Thanks for all the statistics. You guys definitely know how to support your argument with facts.
  7. I had a friend who used to live in Tucson. He never went into the desert without a firearm because of the illegals. Not because of them per se, but rather the coyotes that escort them across the border. It's some bad stuff out there. What about at Philmont (Filmont) Boy Scout Ranch? Don't they still shoot black powder rifles? They did when I was a boyscout about 15 years ago.
  8. All I was thinking about was the widespread practice of mobile meth labs, and mountain lions. There are other things around where I live, but I'm not going to mention them in this forum. Urban areas, I'm not too worried about.
  9. Apologize in advance. I'm definitely not wanting to start any fires. I glance at the forums, but don't usually participate. I haven't really seen this topic discussed before. Moderator please delete -- don't want to start any fires.
  10. I recently moved out west, and I tend to be doing more rural distant caches from civilization. Not to mention other factors that are issues with regard to the specific location. Does anyone carry a firearm with them when they're caching out in the boonies? Why do you carry? I'm not referring to concealed carry while doing LPC's or similar in an urban setting.
  11. I have a buddy who is a DEC agent out in that neck of the woods. Could you PM the names of the Officers to me? I'll ask him about them, and see if he knows anything that is going on up there. I'll find out from him if there is anything in NYS that is "unofficially" a policy against geocaching or along those lines.
  12. I think I'll actually make a trip to Denver to go caching. That's amazing. A rental car and I'm going to be able to rack up quite a few. LOL.
  13. Google it. You'll find plenty. Easiest for beginners (not that I'm implying you're a beginner) is www.itsnotaboutthenumbers.com That is quite a detailed site. GSAK also has a stats tool. If you're using a Mac GCStatistic is a good one too. Google all these, instructions and such are easy to follow.
  14. Oh, c'mon!!! You don't know this?? And BTW, it's "The Little Apple", we prefer Upper Case ! We get broadcast on ABC nationwide every New Year's Eve! I'll give one hint, the military base is the current home of The Big Red 1, and it's not near Utah. But your local base would probably be willing to part with a couple of ammo cans, if they have live firing and you ask nicely. Check the Yellow Pages for either a DRMO or Environment and Conservation contact. Cheers! So where is it? Salt lake city? I am thinking that is what it is. Thanks, and have a great day! gwf Google.
