  1. 240 in a day/ i don't believe you found a geocache every 6 minutes for 24 hours. i could do that too sitting at my computer making false logs. sounds like a little frog in a big pond trying to make a name for theirselves. before you start saying crap about my experience and skill level, we trained usuaing similat techniques in the marines. ive done this for iver 10 tears in the militery and 3 years as a civilian. the marines do not have public caches that you can log in the civilian world. i say where's the pics. where's the log books. if i was to make a boast like that i would at least have proof. i see no proof . having a bunch of your croneys vouch for you is no proof
  2. i've had four local gepcaching groups in three states tell me that i can't hunt for thier caches without joining thier respective groups and making a donation or pay dues. they say it's for mantienence of thier web sites and/or caches. i could understand this if i actually wanted to be a part of thier "group" but i don't. geochacing is free for all to enjoy. at least for those who can afford a GPS and internet access, especially in these economic signs. if these groups don't want other people to find thier caches they should unlist them and only have them available to thier members. just because they have no power at home doesn't mean that they can take a free, fun, and ejoyable sport and make it thiers to control. the groups have been reported and evidence has been sent in to help put an end to these groups. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!!! if you agree with these groups and this is to be the end result of geocaching. then so be it. i'll go back to using my GPS for hiking and biking and let it all implode upon itself. instead of trying to control and munipulate geocaching, let it be the fun free sport it was intended to be. i agree that 99 percent of geocachers are nice honest folks just enjoying the game but, there is an element in geocaching that needs to find another way to make a buck and/or control people. i seldom record my cache finds i only sign the log when i find one and record it in mine. i never remove a travel bug or SWAG. i've been told my finds don't count. YES they do because my name is on the log. the sport can actually be enjoyed without peer approval. i know. i do it all the time. i go hunting with my friends and family on a regular basis. we do not need a bunch of " i found more caches than you so i'm better than you" people along to spoil our fun and neither does anybody else!!!
  3. since it seems that the consensus seems to be that all caches should be considered traditional. how about at least agreeing that if more is required than a simple walk up that it be noted on the cache page? and everybody wonders why are goverment doesn't work effectivly
  4. Crazy, I have been stung multiple times by YELLOW JACKETS and to me it is the most EXCRUCIATING pain I have ever felt! They built a nest in the rotted timbers of a walkway near our house. Unlike honey bees, they can sting a person many times and keep on attacking. I go beyond just disliking yellow jackets and carry it to the extreme.....a DEATH WISH if you will where they are concerned. With the particular nest that I mentioned, I used a gasoline flame thrower and incinerated each individual as they came out of their hole. I then dug out their nest, ripped it apart and roasted all their larvae, turning the egg-laden nest into a puff ball of wispy ashes. The pain of their stings was still in several parts of my body as I was doing this. I had no remorse then and have none now. I sometimes wish that I could be like some of the more gentle "live and let live" posters concerning things that cause me harm...but I can't. I will always be a spider stomping, roach squashing, wasp smacking person, sending any and all creatures that would cause me harm to a better life somewhere else! You did GOOD! Let those other folks poke a daisy in the lapels of the yellow jackets! thank god someone has the nerve not to be politicly correct. even the bee hugers would swat them upon their attack, but they will never admit that

  6. As quoted from above "Now I am not bitter but please people if a forum is to ask questions then answers should be provided, not lifes belittling lessons on how you would NEVER harm anything ever." this is why i quit asking questions. instead i just make statements.every time i've asked a question i get some condecending malcontent answering my question to push their own agendas. i ask for help, not for a belittling lecture from them. geocaching should be a fun for all activity with at least some friendly people. not all this negativity as spouted in these forums
  7. sounds like another control freak with issues. if you are the FTF person why should you have to be in a lottery with other people who weren't the FTF person? sounds like a way to only let people you approve of look for and or find caces in your area. if you are the "real FTF person" a lottery doesn't change that fact. geocaching is supposed to be fun for all not just just for the condecending elitist and their suck ups. are your caches so lame that you need prizes to get people to find them? the thrill of finding a cache should be enough, FTF or not
  8. if the guidlines were published you would not have had to redo things. some people like to do things right the first time. the world is lacking common sense that is why we need the guidelines to be known. i'll give you an example: the label on blow dryers that tell you not to plug it in while it is imersed in water. common sense would tell you not to, but people do this even with the guidliness
  9. I was with ya till the last paragraph. If I discover that a cache does not have adequate permission I will report it, not to help Groundspeak but as a courtesy to others who may hunt this cache. No reason that they should get fussed at. And, "If Groundspeak expects cachers to help see the guidelines enforced than the guidelines must be published along with interpretation and rationale" Published, yes. Interpreted, not so much. Caching is very different in different places, and Reviewers do interpret guidelines differently, that's why Reviewers have wide latitude and discretion. And rationale? I don't need the rationale for it, just the published guideline. i totatly agree. as with any other organized sport the rules are plublished. they may change them occasionaly, but they publish them in a timely manner instead of waiting for someone to break an unknown guidline or rule. since i travel around the country it would be nice to know the guidlines and rules are the same wherever you go, but that wouldn't allow the god complex Groundspeak and their reviewers enjoy so much. there are other worldwide groups (not just local ones) out there who do publish all of their guidlines and rules. the sport is supposed to be free and fun for all. not just for who they deem worthy. just remember that it doesn't matter if they know you found a cache as long as you know you did. there are many public sites to post your hidden caches and cache lists that the elitist don't control
  10. But why can't HE play the game he wants to? Who are we to tell him he's wrong? He CAN play the game he wants....just not here and not with "our" caches. If he wants to play that way then he can setup his own site and his own rules. and you run something other than your mouth? another person who who has no control of their own life so they try to controls other nothing like a semi annomous forum to turn rational adults into childish 3 year olds get a life
  11. when i first started geocaching ten yrs ago, i almost gave it up brfore i started because of the control freaks that are involved. i recently decided to join this group and found that it is even worse now than it was then. i've already been told by one local cacher that i can't cahe in this area without his permission. good luck to the schmuck who thinks they will be able to do this. there are at least fifty other people in this area that cache outside of any organized group because of the same reason. we stash our own caches as well as find ones that are listed publicly. didn't you know that you don't have to be a member to see all of geocache listings and whereabouts without being a member? i'm sure the control freaks will try to do away with that also. they don't realize that they don't run anything but their mouths. why not try and promote the sport instead of controlling it! geocaching.com says that geocaching is free and to be enjoyed by all. why not instead of wasting all this energy and hot air on solving real problems such as world hunger instead of how you can control a sport that should be fun and not a headache. to all the control freaks that will chime in after i post this, i've enjoyed this sport for over 10 yrs without you (so have many others) and will continue to do so no matter what hot air you blow, so don't bother. i'm really sick and tired of the condecending, arrogent, hollier than thou, pompus, and elitist attitude that has ruined a sport that should be enjoyed by all. say what you want about my post. as i said earlier, you only thing you run is your mouth.
