  4. Still waiting patiently by my mailbox, but no Dutch coins yet. Hope they arrive sometime soon, can't wait to see 'em!
  5. So close yet so far! I'm about 40 miles west of Auburn, in Canandaigua. Hope you enjoy your trip!
  6. I thought I'd seen a thread about this. Just got around to searching it out. My recent peresonal Ferreter5 geocoin is not for sale. I'm only trading it, using it as swag, first-to-find prizes, etc. I've been having oodles of fun so far! Here's a picture, and details about the coin can be found in the forum thread about it: http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=148974 Cheers!
  7. The only coin I'm waiting for that's significantly overdue is the Dutch 2006. Hopefully it will arrive here soon.

  9. Wow, everybody! Thank you very much for all the great advice here.
  10. Wow, those are cool! I can relate to the theme, being an ol' gamer from the hills. Wish I lived closer to chance a glimps at a real one. Congrats on getting the cool coin you wanted!
  11. crazycavelover, Thanks for the link to the other thread!
  12. Hula Bum and RattlingCrew, Thank you for the lighting suggestions. I'll have to try out both a spot in my house on a bright sunny day with the light filtered through the curtains as well as one of those dark overcast Kansas days. Cheers!
  13. After being very happy with the way my recent Ferreter5 geocoin turned out, I didn't do such a hot job photographing it. I ran into problems mostly with lighting. Either the light was too strong and reflective, or not strong enough, or I cast a shadow over the coin trying to get a good close-up shot, or using a soft fill flash produced colors that were too warm, or tipping the coin at an angle to avoid one problem introduced a perspective problem, etc. Anyone who has had good results photographing geocoins care to offer some hints, tips, or tricks to creating good photographs of geocoins? For the best I could do with my coin and meager photography skills, you can see the photo I posted in the thread about my coin: http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=148974
  14. Wow, thank you for the high praise, crazycavelover! I have to say that the coins turned out exactly like I'd pictured them when I first did the design. I'm really happy with the way they ended up looking. And yeah, I wish I was a better photographer and could capture how they really look with a photo.
  15. I still have some of my coins available for trades. Cheers!
