Um mögliche Missverständnisse zu vermeiden, unten ein paar Klarstellungen: - Das Projekt konzentrierte sich auf öffentliche Verkehrsmittel, als eine gute Alternative zum Auto (benutzt wie eine einfache Lösung) für Geocaching genutzt werden. Um diese Aussage zu verstärken, wirden die Geotrainmen mit dem Zug in an einem Tag nach einigen EU-Ländern reisen. - Der Envionmental Aspekt ist die einzige Idee hinter diesem Projekt. Es ist aber kein CITO. - Jeder kann natürlich auf eigenem Gutdünken entscheiden wie Sie auf eine Envorinmental Weise Geocaching soll. - Wir könnten die Veranstaltungen Seite in verschiedenen Sprachen schreiben, aber das würde die Seite zu viel überladen. Hierfür wählen wir es in der Sprache schreiben wo das Veranstaltungen stattfindet. Randnotiz: Unser Deutsch ist allerdings nicht perfekt, aber - als nicht-Muttersprachler - versuchen wir unser Bestes um uns selbst verständlich zu machen.

Beim Geocaching benutzen wir die Erde als unser Spielfeld. Deshalb ist es uns selbstverständlich wichtig, dass wir beim Geocaching auch Nachhaltigkeit im Sinn haben, mit Respekt für unsere Umwelt und die Natur. Initiativen wie CITO sind ins Leben gerufen worden, um darauf hinzuweisen. Es ist aber gar nicht notwendig auf die nächste CITO Veranstaltung zu warten, um Müll beim Geocaching aufzusammeln. Jeder kann es auch auf dem Weg zum Geocaching mit den öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln machen, soweit es möglich ist. Nach unserer erfolgreichen Tour in Belgien (> 1000 km, 65 Bahnhöfe, 11 Veranstaltungen an einem Tag) werden die Geotrainmen diese noch einmal bestätigen. Wir werden am 28. März 2015 7 großen Städten in 5 Ländern besuchen mit dem Zug. Die Veranstaltungen werden währen der Stops an den Bahnhöfen stattfinden. The world is our playing field with geocaching. As nature is part of that playing field, it is obvious and important that we protect it by geocaching sustainably, with respect for the environment and nature. There are already major initiatives such as CITO events to emphasize this. But you do not have to wait for an event or to pick up waste every time you go geocaching. It can also be done – as far as possible – by simply using public transport to and from the geocache / geocaching event you want to visit. After a successful tour in Belgium (> 1000 km, 65 train stations, 11 events in 1 day), the geotrainmen will reconfirm this on an European level. We will visit on March 28, 2015 7 major cities in 5 different countries by train. Events will be held during stops while waiting for the next train. Pour un géocacheur, le monde est un grand terrain de jeux. Vu que la nature fait partie de ce terrain de jeux, il est évident et important que l'on la protège en géocachant de façon durable avec le respect nécessaire pour l'environnement. Il existe déjà de multiples initiatives pour souligner cette idée, comme e.a. les CITO. Cependant, il ne faut pas attendre l'organisation d'un événement du type CITO, ni faut-il constamment ramasser des déchets pendant ces tours de géocaching. Il existe en effet d'autres moyens plus simples (dans la mesure du possible) : on peut utiliser les transports en commun pour se rendre aux géocaches. Après une tournée réussie à travers la Belgique (> 1000 km, 65 stations, 11 événements sur une journée) les geotrainmen veulent renforcer cette idée cette fois au niveau européen. Nous visiterons le 28 mars 2015 7 grandes villes dans 5 pays par train. Le temps qui découle entre deux correspondances sera utilisé pour l'organisation d'un petit événement. Indeed, but if one does a trail, all these caches have the same name (except from some number at the very end). If you need to open all the caches in order to know the next in sequence. One can't rely on the distance for this.

Om deze stelling kracht bij te zetten gaan op 18 oktober 2014 de geotrainmen dwars door België toeren met behulp van de trein. We bezoeken daarbij elke provincie en het Brussels Hoofdstedelijk Gewest en stappen af in de belangrijkste stations. Tijdens onze stops houden we telkens een event gedurende de tijd die we hebben om over te stappen naar de volgende trein. Really? I just checked a few puzzles, which used different solution checkers, and they all looked fine. Can you provide an example of a cache that demonstrates this problem? It's back, so I guess it has nothing to do with the layout. Need to find why certitude doesn't show.

looks like geocheck.org has dropped off the face of the planet, so links to it won't be showing up, geochecker.com still works though, so probably not Groundspeak's fault. I only own one puzzle, but my Certitute link is right where it belongs. looks like geocheck.org allowed their name registration to lapse and only renewed it yesterday, so it will probably start working within hours as DNS sorts itself out. It's back, so I guess it has nothing to do with the layout. Need to find why certitude doesn't show.

The Geocheck site is down. Is that the reason maybe? Could be, but Certitude doesn't show either. And no, there isn't any FW other software blocking things. It worked yesterday with the old design. Looking at the source I don't see a real reason why it doesn't show.

There is a serious bug with the new design. All gifs/links to coordinate checkers in mysteries don't show anymore. I checked it both in FF as MIE. Looking at the source, the code is still there, but some styling prevent showing it. A quick fix is needed.

I think that the facts are clear: EU (non business) customers needs to pay VAT to a US based company, even if there is no EU subsidiary. Article 58 (as mentioned in this doc) states: "In July 2003, the EU started applying VAT to sales by non-EU based companies of EES to EU-based non-business customers. As from January 1st 2010, those measures have become permanent. Before the application of the new rules, U.S.-based suppliers of ESS had no obligation to charge VAT on their EES sales to EU-based non-business customers because the place of supply was the U.S. where VAT is not applicable. EU supplier felt the rules were discriminatory and new rules have been adopted to rectify this competitive disadvantage. All supplies consumer within the EU are now subject to VAT because VAT on services to non-business customers must now be collected at the rate applicable in the Member State where the customer is located. Therefore, U.S.-based providers of ESS to EU non-business custom ers must charge the VAT rate applicable in the Member State of residence of their customers and submit the VAT receipts to EU-based VAT authorities. " The most important thing is that is charged at VAT rate applicable in the Member State of residence and thus no flat fee. The example of Luxemburg is NOT common since Lux has somewhat the lowest taxes of the EU. Having said this, I do understand that the VAT rule inevitable, as long as it charged properly. The recurring argument doesn't make any sense in that perspective since all VAT is due. If EU regulations does allow the recurring exception (for old customers), I would like to see Groundspeak to allow recurrent payments via Paypal. For security reasons, I'm not willing to provide CC info on each site that asks for it. Then the transaction fees. If I look at Paypal fees, I calculate the following price for a 1 year membership 30$ = 22.96 Euro (source Google currency converter) Paypal fee (worst case when GS receives < 2500 Euro/month): 3.4% + 0.35 Euro = 1.13 Euro VAT (I take BE as example) -> 21% on 24.09 (22.96 + 1.13) = 5.06 Euro Total: 29.15 Euro Conclusion: I have to admit that the 30€ isn't that far from the actual cost as one thinks. I wonder if it was calculated or just a lucky guess. Having said this, I do have some major reservations: Groundspeak shouldn't work with a flat fee, but needs to calculate VAT, based on the VAT rate applicable in the (verifiable) EU member state of residence of the PM Groundspeak should announce membership price WITHOUT VAT and fees and indicate what the additional costs are, based on the residence of the PM There shouldn't be any discrimination between new and old PM, recurrent or not If Groundspeak wishes to give a reduction for old PM (base price 24,45 Euro for BE) who are willing to pay recurrent, they should allow people to pay via Paypal and not only credit cards in order not to discriminate Groundspeak should communicate more open and honest about things. That includes other subjects too.
