  1. Hi all Just wondering if anyone has hidden a bigger cache container than this: Cache It is still there, 45 days after being hidden and has many finds to its name. To comply with the Big Cache Contest rules, the container had to be largely filled with trade items. I estimate the trade items occupied about 500 litres of space Curious to know if there is a larger cache out there! This one was 1575 litres big. Thanks peanutbutterbreadandjam
  2. Anyone else think that this category should be divided into provinces/territories and/or countries?? peanutbutterbreadandjam
  3. So, not sure about this, but how about a category of Ghost Towns and sub-categories for each country? Or is that not the point? peanutbutterbreadandjam
  4. Ghost towns are defined as places that are shells of their former glory. They have been in a period of decline for a number of years and have a declining population or a population of zero. Waymarks should include the name of the town (or namesif it has gone through name changes), any historical information known about the place, i.e., when it was founded, when the last person moved away, the main industry, why the town declined etc. Also, the poster should note the current condition of the town, i.e, how many buildings remain, their general condition, are the structures safe to enter (in their opinion) etc. Also, how accessible the town is to vehicles, foot traffic etc. and if it is on private land or not. Thanks, peanutbutterbreadandjam
  5. Cute kids. Hungry cute kids... Well, somebody had to eat it! At the Calgary CITO last year, and searching for various caches in the area at the same time. Link to CITO here. Thanks for having the contest! This is fun! peanutbutterbreadandjam
  6. Calgary, Alberta and I would take 1 or 2, depending upon design. Thanks for asking. peanutbutterbreadandjam
  7. None in Calgary, except for large ones (3 only) at $30 each. peanutbutterbreadandjam
  8. I have never used GPSCity but have been to GPSCentral a few times. I am co-organizing an Event Cache in Sylvan Lake in June and went to GPSCentral to inquire about them donating prizes for the event. There was no question that they would support us and they were generous with their donation. I asked how much Geocaching they do, and they don't really, but they are fully supportive of the community and said they may attend the event for the fun of it. Neat! peanutbutterbreadandjam
  9. Hi all If you are in AB or are visiting in late June, we'd love to see you at our Meet and Greet Event, GAME-ON! (GCNJP6)!! We plan to supplement the meagre collection of caches in Sylvan Lake and have a LOT OF FUN at the same time! You are welcome to come for the whole event (camping suggested at Jarvis Bay Campground) or just the Saturday. If you come for the one day, be there early, so you don't miss the pancake breakfast, the BBQ lunch and campfire supper! Lots of prizes to be won and caching boasts to be bragged about! Finally a chance to put faces to names from the top and bottom and side to side of our province! See you there! Register your intent at the cache page. peanutbutterbreadandjam
  10. nicolo I am not sure what I have to offer as a trade but I sure would like to get one of your coins, can you reserve one for me so I have time to figure out a trade?? Thanks a bunch! pbb&j
  11. These are a great price right now at my local (Coventry Hills, Calgary, Alberta) Real Canadian Superstore: Lockable Containers They are not exactly Lock 'n' Lock, but at $1.00 for the set of two, you cant bea't the price!! And there is a choice of green, orange and blue latches! peanutbutterbreadandjam
  12. Thanks for the bump, but it seems as if there is no interest in these decals outside of the Calgary area(hardly surprising) and the initial orders (posted on the Calgary Area Cachers forum - www.cac.sublime.ca) have already sold out, so I will not be able to entertain any new orders at this point anyway. peanutbutterbreadandjam
  13. I have finalised pricing for the decals, and the design. There is an open topic on the Calgary Area Cachers forum for those that wish to pre-order the decals. Click here to go to the forum. Thanks peanutbutterbreadandjam
  14. ... wait until Summer! peanutbutterbreandjam
  15. In the event that TPTB do not approve the use of the GC logo, we would proceed the this design instead. So I invite comments on this one too! Thanks peanutbutterbreadandjam
  16. Hi all I am proposing to make some window decals OR bumper stickers for Calgary Area Cachers or anyone else that wants them. They would be produced as a non-profit offering, costing about $2.00 to $3.00 each. Here is a copy of the proposed design. I am looking for comments on the design/colours etc. (I am restricted (for cost reasons) to stock ink colours and stock vinyl sizes). I am also looking to gauge interest in these stickers. On the Calgary Area Cachers forum (www.calgarycachers.ca), there was more interest in and support of the sticker as a window decal than a bumper sticker. There was also expressed concern that window tinting may make the decal hard to read if stuck to the inside of the glass, so it was suggested that the decal be made with the adhesive on the back so that it can be applied from the outside. The decals could be made so that they are repositionable for a 6 month period and with a total lifespan of about 2 years. Comments, please! peanutbutterbreadandjam
  17. Nicolo I have a spare GPSr here right now. I just won it on eBay and was intending to give it as a gift to someone, but have changed strategies and now will be looking to sell it or give it to someone else. In the meantime, you are welcome to borrow it. It is an old Garmin 45 (8 channel reception only), but is in great condition. I live in Huntington Hills. Let me know. Miles/..
  18. Whatever New Direction said. I would love to attend, but not sure if I'll have the time, but count me in for now and I'll do my best. TTFN peanutbutterbreadandjam
  19. GCH0V3 or do a search using keyword "Toys Galore" Miles/..
  20. Dan I would be very interested, but do not get a day off for more than a week right now (unlike some people...!) and due to my largesse, if we didn't get bogged down I would be very surprised...! Anyway, count me if, if you dare! But I can push. Miles (peanutbutterbreadandjam)
  21. Well, right now i am working on Calgary Cryptocache and loving every minute of it! Generally, I like the caches that make me think - outforthehunt seems to hide his very well, for example. But I also like an easy one now and then, to boost my morale when I have been unable to find any for a while... peanutbutterbreadandjam
  22. Hi there I fully intended to do VB2 last time I was in Lethbridge (July 5th - did Old Coalbanks instead) but ran out of time. I go to LA about every two or three months and VB2 is in my GPSr ready for the next trip. The pirate thing sounds great! peanutbutterbreadandjam
  23. Yes I do, but am a little saddened by the constant bickering that has been occurring lately... Anything you want to talk about? Miles/.. peanutbutterbreadandjam
  24. Same problem here, in Canada (not sure how many servers there are). peanutbutterbreadandjam
