  1. Just a reminder, it's cache not catch (we're not fishermen ) Although not completely clear I guess the question was about images on a cache listing not a log. For logs you can just upload when logging a find. You are correct, it's not for a log but for the cache listing.
  2. Thank you. Embarrassed that I just looked down the edit page and not options on the margin. Did get a photo on the gallery page that way but still not on the cache page itself. Maybe the link you gave also helps with that. It's my understanding that if I had chosen wallpaper on the edit page, it would fill the cache page and I don't want that. We have a travel bug that I was able to place pics on but that was years ago. Thanks again. Will still work on the link you gave.
  3. It has been so long since I've started a cache and added photos so I've forgotten how to do the photos. Hoping I don't have to use Photobucket or something like that since I don't remember that either. Not talking about background pics. Thanks
  4. I'm not sure this is where my question should be. Today I can't get the google maps on the cache page. Earlier I was googling for an address (not in geocaching) and it locked up. Now that is working again but no maps for caches. Does anyone know if there is a connection - and if so, what to do? Thanks.
  5. We are leaving the area and one of the cachers will take over our 1 cache. I know that sometimes I've seen where a cacher says they adopted a cache. Do I have to do something for the other cacher to "adopt" it. I tried to look it up but didn't find anything. Thanks!
  6. Helping a friend get his Magellan 300 going. Could not import the loc file - it crashed. Do we need to send a message to Microsoft? Know nothing about this and want to try to get this new cacher going soon.
  7. A new cacher has this and we are trying to get it started for him. Started to download caches and it comes up with an error and shuts down. There is a Topo program that the caches are loaded to and then trying to transfer all of that is when it errors and shuts down. We have a Garmin and not familiar with this at all.
  8. Just wanted to report back on this situation. I did send a second email to the couple to see if they needed help retrieving it from our inventory. I checked today and they had taken it and have placed it in a cache in Texas. Yay!!!!
  9. Thanks for the guidance. After posting here, I sent them another email to see if we could be of more help. I asked if they still have it or have dropped it in a cache. Have offered to help them however we can, as others have helped us so much. I do still have the number so if they didn't write it down, we can help with that too. Will wait for their reply and what works next. Maybe then I could let the owner know what's going on as you suggest. Thanks again!
  10. We passed off a geocoin to a couple while on vacation. We sent them info on how to take it from our inventory when we saw that they weren't taking it. They still haven't put it in theirs. I think it is about time to contact them again (this happened the first part of May). If they still have it, I could try to help them with it again. If they have dropped it, maybe I could help them with that. Any suggestions on how to proceed?
  11. REALIZED THIS SHOULD BE IN THE GEOCOIN AREA AND PUT IT THERE BUT CAN'T SEE HOW TO DELETE THIS We passed off a geocoin to a couple while on vacation - oops, maybe this should have been in a geocoin area). We sent them info on how to take it from our inventory when we saw that they weren't taking it. They still haven't put it in theirs. I think it is about time to contact them again (this happened the first part of May). If they still have it, I could try to help them with it again. 12. Just got back on the net to see your answer, thanks-that's what I thought I remembered! Adding - I just checked our email and we have received a drop notification.
  13. Thanks Eartha! Sure appreciate all the help on here. The owner's notification is automatic, right? We didn't have to ask for it?
  14. We did receive 2 email notifications of your movements - but there is no note on the TB page. Is there supposed to be?
  15. A geo friend had it in his cache and let us know that someone had picked it up. Shouldn't we have received an email notification?
  16. Yes, it is ours. We did just what you said and it worked! Thanks so much!!!
  17. We began a TB by "dipping" it in several caches in one general area in Iowa and then took it with us to the Ozarks to release it. Those miles are on the list. Then a friend cacher took it from us and it went to Oklahoma with him and he "dipped" it and brought it back to the Ozarks and has now placed it in a cache there. None of his movements have added any miles. Why?
  18. I'm curious to hear what happens when you try this. Do the coordinates get cut off in the print preview? Well, I decided to stop being creative. And simplify, simplify, simplify. After setting up the page I did a select all, copy, and then paste to a word document. Then page setup setting to booklet with reduced margins and print. (You do have to flip the page over during printing.) Everything is naturally there. Sometimes mwe just need to step back and remember our goal. Thank you for the way we can layout our printing options (turning off items we don't need.)
  19. I decided to add one of them that doesn't want to print correctly. GC1EY2Q
  20. We have been using the new way to print out caches, doing our own pdf. Its been working pretty good so thanks for the help in that. But I have come across 2 that won't print the part mentioned in this thread. Not doing anything different. And I have printed one out fine, then gone to one that wouldn't, then chose another that did fine again. I'm choosing the 10 posts each time. And the only thing I'm "turning off" is the map.
  21. This was answered on page 2 of this same thread, post # 8 on the page. Thanks for the lead, although it didn't answer. I don't see that there were complaints about PDF's, The recognized STANDARD (Prof Document Format). I use it and Internet Explorer in everything else I do and do not see changing my system for this. I am puzzled that there is such a problem with the standards used by the rest of the world. Our Geocaching experience will be greatly diminished in the name of progress. How soon till IE will be developed? Hate to burst your bubble, but PDF stands for Portable Document Format...and please continue to read...there are other options. Yes, my bad, you are correct. But Portable is professional. Never the less this has beed a big step backwards. Life goes on and is full of changes, even bad ones from the looks of the rest of these posts. It's not my bubble that is important here, only effeciency. Best of luck in the future... I wouldn't want your job... Thanks for the attempt to improve the site. Please listen to the users though.

  23. I agree completely. I liked the PDF version. It consistantly saved printing at least one page, saving trees, staples, and made a much smaller pile of caching sheets to clutter up the house with. I also agree completely! When printing with logs, if there is a hint given by the owner of the cache, the name of the cache and coordinates are not there! The top third of the page is blank! What a waste of time & paper that is! Why would you want to "fix something that isn't broken?" Please bring the PDF format back! AMEN, I missed this and added another reply with the same issue. Thought I would add to this one to re-enforce the comment. REALLY want this back !!! Try Highlighting the item you want to print the hit control+P on your key board. Select the box marked selection and you should be abnle to print out what you need. I personally haven't tried this yet myself, but it should work. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Just did this: I went to a cache info page highlighted what I wanted to print, right clicked on it, selected copy, opened a blank word document and pasted the data on it, even got the map. I resized the map and now I have a one page document of the cache with the map. I can now either save it to my computer and/or I can print it out. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ That's real OLD School I know, and adds an awful lot of unecessary and cumbersome work. (even more for those not as familiar with the computer world) I retired from a CAD profession and it always helped to know the reasoning, so again: Why the change from the PDF function printing??? It would really help to know the reasoning...
