  1. Has anyone used a screen protector for the Oregon? I was wondering if it effected the sensitivity of the touch screen? I already have a small nic on the screen. I used them on my Palm Tre and is doesn't seem to be an issue. Will the ones available for the Colorado work with the Oregon? The screen in the same size so I am guessing it should. Thanks
  2. I wonder if keeping the memory as free as possible will help this problem from happening until Garmin comes up with a fix. I am interested to see what happens as anOregon owner myself.
  3. Looks like just another post to stir the pot....and getting everyones feathers ruffled. Judging from the responses...it worked..
  4. To edit coordinates...make a way point....then edit the waypoint...its a little odd but it works. I have been buying Garmin since the mid to late 90s...all have been good reliable units. Garmin seems to be on top of things when bugs occur, Many may disagree with me. I have heard therewere troubles with the Colorado but it looks like Garmin is trying to fix them. I just purchased a Oregon 400t and this is the easiest unit I have ever owned. I think most of the gripes come from people expecting a military grade unit in a consumer package. I love the paperless GC feature and the touch screen speeds things along. Is it perfect of course not but I am happy so far.
  5. This was what I was going to suggest...basically reload an older version of the firmware then if it works upgrade back to the current version.
  6. I did that today.. on a busy biking trail...had my wife watch one direction and my daughter watch the other while I removed and replace it. I actually found the hiding place but didn't go get it till the area was clear. However sometimes its hard to be stealthy with 6 year old in tow..." Daddy daddy DID YOU FIND IT!" lol
  7. I have to agree.... I want to spend as little time as possible at Wallyworld....but to sue is ridiculus
  8. This is interesting because I seem to have the oppisite problem there are a lot of caches cles by the problem I have is finding a good place to hide mine....all the good places are taken.
  9. From what I understand the units are identical other than the loaded maps....I asked this very question on other web sites and a store clerk and all confirmed this was true...
  10. I just upgraded from a GPSMAP 76S to an Oregon 400t. There will always something better on the horizon so buy what you like.... I find the Oregon 400t excellent for geocaching
  11. In my short time with this hobby I have discovered one thing....if you hide a cache in spring or late fall your cache may be really hard to find come summer....why? things grow....with all the rain we have had I have noticed many locales heavily over grown....one I gave up on because I didn't want to trample all the vegetation in search of the cache. So I guess you can hide it to well but when you do hide consider the area and how it may change over the seasons.....
  12. I have to say that my Oregon seems to be pretty darn accurate. The four Colorado units that I owned were not however. Enough was enough with Colorado. I am very pleased with the accuracy of my Oregon. It was my understanding that the accuracey issue was addressed by Garmin and has been fixed at least wi th the Oregon
