  1. Thank you SO MUCH for the response but I must say once more, ANY even slightly more specific instructions would be very appreciated and any MUCH MORE detailed help would be immensely appreciated!!! I'm not even close to the space age, let alone this 'age' yet!! Thank You oh so much!!!!!
  2. Got this awesome new toy, the Garmin etrex 20, for XMas & have two major help needs at this point... 1-I'm east coast US. How do I get street direction maps as well as topo maps for free on this thing!?!?! I'd like to use it as a car navigator as well as have the topo for caching. And 2-I successfully dropped a PQ file of caches I have not found into the folder THEN found a cache using that solely on the unit. My question is, is there an easier way to get caches to the unit rather than having to run PQs and continually updating the unit?? Just FYI this unit takes me from the stone age (Garmin etrex yellow - started caching in 2003 printing pages & manual inputs each time) to the industrial age so understanding that in your replies is most appreciated!! See you on the trail! Chris Dad Gilligan of Team Gilligan MD
  3. I'm with the camp of bring back the dates on logs and eliminate the avatars - WAY too much wasted space...
  4. Miragee - thanks! Others, esp ParrotRob, .....no harm meant. I just wanted to know how to approach this clown!! I love caching and hope to see you on the trail. Take care, God Bless...and Good night! CG- Dad Gilligan
  5. Hey, please read the last reply. what you so quickly copied was a typo. You aren't the topic of my frustration. See you on the trail!
  6. ..my last post...the Frederick guy has 30 finds and a thousand posts.... try caching once in a while before you spout off so much. Mopar...most points are valid...EXCEPT... he logged finds on like 30 caches that take us locals a month to do. He 'found' caches we take two and three trys at. So many caches in a day that are so far apart there's no way! I made it a point to follow up after I got sick of seeing all of the 'finds' on logs and there were no written logged finds on the two I went behind. I'm ready to follow up on a few more and call the cache owners and have them email the clown too. He claims a find on one that to skip 4 others is totally moronic. They are in the same field within .2 mile of one another, there just is no sense, period. And to claim 500+ finds and show himself in uniform? BS!
  7. My smile is very big!! Thank you so much, that's probably what I needed!! That's awesome!! We and a few other locals just got so sick of seeing those BS logs!! Thanks again Parrot Rob!!!
  8. I found him on another message board and asked for a reply. Enough said.
  9. SGTbsbsbs ...Why do you log bogus finds????????? You are a total disrespect for that uniform you took a picture of yourself in. see my posts regarding your bs posts in MD and reply to everyone. Regards.
  10. It's July 5-13. If they were here for any, fine. But the same log is on every cache and several caches I have come behind them on there is no log in the log book and on top of it it is IMPOSSIBLE to do some of these same caches in one day that they logged, and IDIOTIC to not have done others.
  11. But the 'finds' are just on a ton of caches in our area. We can't police them all. We want to email the clown and say 'hey...play fair...delete your bogus finds'. It's really annoying everytime we log on a new cache to hunt that the same BS is there.
  12. How is the right way to email a clown downloading obviously fraudulent finds?? I mean, what is their purpose anyway?? To just run up the number of finds?? I don't see why someone would do this but this clown has disrespected not only Geocaching but represents himself as military. Look at the BS here - SGTABN82 Life is too short.........LIVE!!!
  13. This is all very amusing as I don't even know what most of this means! We've been caching for almost 2 years. We use an ETrex that we paid $75 for, a $1.99 WalMart compass when the need is there for one, and we sit at the computer and print our pages before we head out. I say all of this so anyone new realizes that there is no need to spend a ton of money or be technically savy to enjoy our sport. Look at this... I've been a member since 2003 and this is my first post!! See you on the trail!
