  1. What process are you using to download the caches? When you search for caches, make sure to select "by name" since "nearest" is limited by 50 miles. I went into a cache and selected "download to GPS" having connected GPS to PC. ,gpx file was created on SD card in GPS unit but can find no way of accessing it via the GPS unit. I did use a local cache to practice downloading in this instance. Thanks for your help and hope this information helps.
  2. I consider myself to still be relatively new to this game! I have a eTrex Legend HCX and am now having a go at downloading caches onto it in the hopes that it will save time in the long run! However whilst I seem to have managed to download a cache onto my GPS I can't actually find it - I've looked in find - Waypoint and Geocache. Not sure where else to look. Also the general downloading seemed to take quite a while, so any hints and tips on doing this more effectively would be appreciated. Happy New Year and hope 2009 is a goood geocaching year for all.
  3. All good choices. If you may want maps, rule out the H. If you may want to add a lot of maps or autorouting, rule out the HC. That would leave the HCX. I have just placed an order for the Legend HCX. Can't wait for it to arrive now so that I can have a play! Thanks for the advice.
  4. I am looking fora GPS now that I have got started on this wonderful game! I am not looking for anything expensive and have shortlisted 3, and I would welcome advice from more experienced geocachers. Looking at the eTrex H, the Legend HCX and the Venture HC. Any thoughts? Many thanks.
