  1. Searching, I found you can get the KMnO4 at Koi fish stores. Probably other such places, too. If you know the names of the chems you want, try ebay.
  2. Beautiful animal! Fox sitings have been very rare for me. You guys were lucky today! It's kind of funny how much they act like dogs! Dave~ The Fox pics are awesome!!! Wow! The Broncos must have been taking 'choke' lessons from t he Chargers. We were rootin' for them tho! Thanks for all of your pictures, we enjoy them, and you guys don't seem so far away. The Splashes Wow! Really nice! So what neighborhood do you live in? How much acreage do you have? Or how far away is the wild area?
  3. Well sure, but not during the seventies. During the seventies the gals had the idea that there was something beyond perfect. Too bad for me. Hey, we still do!!
  4. "currently have the logbook but plan on returning it within the month. Wanted to read all the entry's but didn't want to stand in the cold. " ... a good example of what not to do .. single digit finder. Hey, no one will be looking for it until about April anyway Oh yea? The noob was out there this month! If those people don't cache in the snow, they don't have a very large window to cache.
  5. Duncan and I have one with the capabilities. We both have Verizon Pocket PCs - made by Audiovox; I only use mine as a PDA; Duncan uses his as his phone and has Internet access -brat . Both can be used as GPS with available soft/hardware. I think Flagman has one also - brat . It has GPS too? What is the model number?
  6. Oh great! Now I need to activate internet access on my phone. I'll need a good excuse for this one. So when are they going to come up with an all-in-one? GPSr, phone, palm, internet access, ??? Just think, PW would have ruined/lost only one machine instead of the two or three that he did!
  7. It's nice that we can access a cache from the main page now, but I think that option should be moved up to be with the other access links.
  8. Bob worked on the Atlas, Centaur, & ?Surveyor? way back when. Then my dad used to teach missle maintenance, too (Minuteman II).
  9. So... Is this where you have to go once you solve Duncan's Puzzle "The BrownEye of Horus"? Oooo! Bad thought, bad thought! BTW, what is that? (Be nice! )
  10. Speaking of lifting things.... I noticed that DJ is back out in the field, how it PW doing? How's the leg? Narly?
  11. Hey Harmon! You should have put Flagman's little guy in one of the seats!
  12. Sorry, this page has been censored - please skip over to the next page. Management I am actually tempted to post that pixture again... But it's such a cute dead horse!
  13. For a long time, I had wanted to get involved with orienteering but didn't know of anyone else doing it. About 2 1/2 years ago, we read a newspaper article about geocaching & decided that this would be fun! We tried to find several caches but couldn't. After I almost broke my leg looking for a cache, we were hiking back to the car when hubby saw a guy that looked guilty of something! We got to talking & found out the cache was there (about 1/4 mile from where we were looking!). When he found out we were using UTM numbers, he took our Legend, punched a bunch of numbers, & gave it back to us. We then were able to find a nearby cache & we were hooked! (OK, I was.) BTW, the other cacher was the infamous Tucson Thompson.
  14. I can't seem to find the moved link. Hmmm. You may want to buy from REI. It may cost more, but if you damage it, you can trade it in for a new one. They have a no-questions-asked policy. As long as you still have at least part of it (ie. you didn't lose it) then they'll give you a new one. Keep your receipt! I didn't know about their policy until after we bought our second GPSr elsewhere. They both have a deep scratch on the face that we have to live with.
  15. I haven't completed it, but I think Chalk La Strada is accessible, too. The ones NOT to do: Any by the DAK girls. They usually like to crawl into tunnels, etc. Or around hilly forests. They're excellent caches, tho. Sorry. How far can you reach from your wheelchair? Do you use some sort of grabber or is your grabber on 4 legs? How rough can the terrain be? As you can probably tell, we don't have much experience with wheelchairs. Maybe contact Bunthorne. His wife used a wheelchair in her later months.
  16. You mentioned mines. For safety sake, please don't place any inside the mines or any such other hazard zones. Just "Mom" putting in my $.02. "Yes, Mommmm!"
  17. Wait a minute! What do you mean by enchilada??
  18. DOH! There goes another DAK Girls series I wanted to do. Now Stuck in the Merge and Wizard's Chess are gone before I had a chance to do them. I better move on Triwizard Tournament before it is gone too. You need to hit Forbidden Forest, too, if it's still alive. Its really neat! Take a friend, strong flashlight, & watch out for the HUGE spiders. It's at UCSD, too. I agree! That one is a must do! Count me in I want to do this also. Also Barb half of B.R.A. also Yea, it's real easy, too. Team Fatman can bring Fattboy, too. 4 more to go!
  19. Yea, it's such a nice picture! I especially like where you put the war zone. Very appropo.

  21. So, has anybody tried to do Waymarking yet? "Virtuals" in the "New & Improved"? We used to be able to find Virtuals on a route when we went on vacation. Now...?
  22. What are tunnel caches? Go to the SD thread & look at d-jollymon & PW's pictures. They're a good guide of what NOT to do! Be aware of possible flash floods & don't do them during/right after rain. They are caches that are in drainage ditches, etc. I think there is one where you have to go about 2 miles underground. Not one I'm going to do! There seems to be quite a few being put out at this time.
