  1. You know, thats something I've noticed as well. I see a lot of complaints on the general board about signal strength loss in dense tree cover, but I never seem to have a "loss of signal" issue.
  2. Co-opt the enemy. I showed my wife a few caches that had handmade jewelry in them and now her treasure lust rivals even the most bloodthirsty pirate.
  3. Well, we're like the Bull Moose Party of Geocaching, we have to stick together if we are to survive against the "Big 2".
  4. I use the regular iFinder in conjunction with DeLorme USA Topo 6.0 I think it is. No direct link up, I'm usually able to correlate the 2 without actually d/ling anything. Plus I print off topos of most of the areas I go to.
  5. I use pretty much just the vanilla functions of the iFinder, but I know theres more options for the power user. Just wondering what sorts of settings and/or options make your Geocaching experience more productive.
  6. Sorry about that, thanks for the move. Are you sure Im not just being oppressed for my iFinder usage?
  7. Any other iFinder users out there? I know we are far and few between but I'd like to get the most out of mine and perhaps some of you have some hints or tricks for using it.
  8. I just tell people I'm a pirate searching for hidden booty, every one has a little corsair blood (Captain) in them Then I come here and post my experience without any pent up political/offtopic vitriol. Quite easy.
  9. The price of gasoline always amazed me when compared to oh, say milk. Oil must be prospected and once the field is found, test wells must be drilled. Then comes the production and refining facilities. (Process simplified) Milk comes from a cow and is heated and packaged. Billions of dollars are invested in oil prospecting and refinery construction. For about 50,000 bucks you can own a herd of cows. Yet milk and gas cost about the same per gallon. I know the reason is demand, but I still like the comparison. BTW, who do you think was the 1st cave dude to drink milk? Who said, "Hey, see that white stuff comes out of that cow's pink underside? Whad'ya give me if I drink it?"
  10. SUBIGO!!! Is he now anti-OKIC? Has the dark man of mystery pilfered yet another innocent cache? Is he throwing blame on the Weathermen, Al Qaeda, or the notorious anti-OKIC Legion? Tune in again, same cache-time, same cache-channel!
  11. I wondering how long this will cuntinue until bug&snake edit for spelling?
  12. I'm getting pretty clOse tO my hundredth pOst. But, hey, WhOs c0unting?

  14. YOu are a very cunning linguist, clear path!
  15. OOOOOOOOOOO Sole MiO!!!!! Says Luciano Pavarotti
  16. I wasn't going to say anything, but since everyone else noticed......
  17. I am ignoring the previous poster and calling cease-fire with Phishy. We will share the peace pipe and agree to disagree. Thanks for a lively conversation. Team Grizzly, now would be a good time to close this thread.
  18. We'll have to agree to disagree Phishy. Religious expression should be allowed to manifest itself in geocaching.
  19. Analogy valid, as I was not referring to those items being in a cache. Its a personal decision to ignore advertisement, whether it be in a cache or on TV. Edit for clarity
  20. There is a difference between advertisements for pedophilia and polygamy and religious pamphlets. A flyer for pedophilia/polygamy would be advocating an illegal act, quite a difference from advertising religion. As for Neo-Nazis, again it is a right, and you have the right to be disgusted by it.
  21. Understandable, but your discomfort does not translate into loss of rights for others who feel differently. Geocaching cannot be limited by any one religious/political/social group. Ignore the pamphlet, same as you would any advertisement offering a "better" TV, toaster oven, or car that you may own.
  22. (Steering onto topic) So what you're saying is that its ok for religious materials to be placed in caches.
