  1. Hope everything is okay with your son. I received my turtles. This is my first set, they are beautiful. Thank you, Karen
  2. Signed up: 12/20/2008 Received Name: 12/28/08 Sent Package: 1/08/09 Received Package: (Date) WSR just want to add that if you keep what you got at the clearance sales for next year, 1. You have to remember you bought them 2. You have to remember where you put them. Thanks for putting this together, it was fun.
  3. Well I think I got my order in, I made it to check out and received a receipt from Paypal. I read that others have received invoices, but so far nothing. Does that mean its good if I made it through paypal? This is a first sale like this for me. Looking forward to seeing them in person. Karen I just received a shipping notice with tracking number so I'm good. Can't wait to see them. K
  4. My mom mixed up my Christmas list and I got a couple of things he wanted. So all I really got was a pair of pj bottoms from Costco, and a eyeshadow palette from my MIL. Now he on the other hand cleaned up, I would take them back but they are things we could both use. DH and I didn't exchange gifts as he wants to buy a new TV and keeps thinking prices will come down some more. He can be a snail in these type of things and will probably miss the window. Mother Nature was kind to us and I was able to find # 100 before the New Year. Had to sneak away for a little to do this as the relatives visiting had knee surgery and my In Laws both have had knee or hip replacement and can't get around for this kind of thing. Hope everyone had a good Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year.

  6. I have just caught the Geocoin Bug and have seen so many that I want but these are at the top for now, I probably don't have proper names Scout knife Geocoin, London Phone Booth, 4 piece puzzle geocoin, Templar Geocoin, Planisphere Northern Hemisphere, and Astrolab Gecoin, Phone a Friend (hinged phone) and a Anthus laptop. Some are available now but have made several purchases recently and with the holidays I don't dare buy anymore for now. My list will surely grow as I discover more. Karen

  8. Sorry to hear about your problems. Hope you get it to a point where you can enjoy your holidays. Its times like that when I think renting has its brightside. Am new to all this so I am looking forward to seeing all the craziness this sale seems to brewing. Someday this will all be a distant memory. Karen

  13. Rod, thank you for your pm, I sent a reply. I would love to contribute to this in any way. I sent you my info in the reply. Let me know, I live in central part of USA (Kansas City area). Karen
  14. I have two tbs, one I own, and one I donated to my daughter's class so they could watch it travel. I attached laminated labels to both explaining its mission/goal, and what to do with it once it was found. I'd be happy to be on either end of the mission, receive and send them out to be adopted or adopt one and place in a cache. So far every coin or TB we have found we currently watch, daughter has me check on their locations once a week, (this could turn out to be a part time job the way she falls in love with them). We have not released a coin yet we are new to caching and have just found this area, but we have moved a few around to various caches. I am centrally located in the USA (Kansas City, MO area). Would love to help in any way. And I will keep an eye for them in our area if not chosen so we can help along its way or discover it. Karen
  15. I agree with you about the whole head type. I think I know what you are talking about on the novelty helmet. They remind me of the type I would see on reruns of Hogan's Heroes. Can't see them offering any or much protection especially going over low speeds. As far as being distributed according to an agreement maybe you could clarify if it is different than my understanding. My understanding with a trackable whether it be a coin or bug is to log the coin from the cache it is removed from and place it in another cache in a timely manner (again logging it) I say timely in that we may hindered by unexpected delays, weather, health, family emergency) Or if we have a trackable that has a specific goal and we can help it along because of a planned upcoming trip we may keep it a little longer. If it is different please clarify as we are pretty new and learning. If it saves lives step back up. Karen
  16. I hope to see some of these in a cache in the Midwest. Budget doesn't allow for any more purchases for now. But love to see coins in person. Pics don't do most coins justice. And I love the feel of them. When I see bikers without helmets it makes me shudder. A guy I dated in college was in an accident on a hot summer day so he didn't have on his leather jacket and his skin was ripped up. When I remember how it looked while I was helping care for him it gives me the willies. It looked so painful. Luckily he always wore his helmet or he would have serious head trauma or been killed. Karen
  17. A New Year's tradition I actually dreaded at first but now I took over. In order to prosper in the New Year one must eat poorly on New Years Day. So every New Year we have to eat hot dogs, mashed potatoes, saurkraut (sp?). Everyone who is in town gathers for the meal. My DH who hates the kraut has 3 strings, so its kind of a joke for all of us to try to get more past him. They claim this is a German tradition but I thought the German version was for pork. The year my Brother In Laws family drove back home that day and skipped the meal he was laid off and it took him nine months to find a job. So now they make sure the stay for the meal or are home for them to prepare it at home. My family has the tradition of Black Eyed Peas every year and mom always has to bring those over as well. So we have a strange mix of food now. Karen PS I like the hot dog meal better than the Black eyed peas.
  18. Count us in. I am not in the data base I have read about so I would need to that. Karen
  19. Well this wasn't in the mail, but hope its okay to post here. I'm new to all this. Family went to a S'Mores cache event this evening with a white elephant gift exchange and we came home with a 2008 Compass Rose from Coins and Pins. I'm doing the happy dance. Karen
