  1. My wife and Hannibal. He gets excited whenever I even touch the caching bag.
  2. Some days I wish I had that kind of accuracy. Especially during the fall when the leaves are thick.
  3. I have a cheap wallmart special headlamp that I find comes in handy the most when it come time to sign the log. Holding the log book, the flashlight, and the pen is pretty tought when your by yourself.
  4. Yes...but you know what he means. 4 or 5 adds support to the statement or opinion...after that it's an over kill. El Diablo Yeah, what he said.
  5. Christmas here on the east coast. Merry xmas everyone!
  6. Taurus Millenium Pro Titanium. 9mm. Part of my standard caching equipment.
  7. I only trade for a sig item anymore. I still have the little ATM mousebusters mouse that I found at one of the first caches that I found. Those are the kind of things that you remember.
  8. Palm Tungsten E Cachemate GSAK Can't imagine going back to paper.
  9. I have a surefire and love it. Ebay is a great source for cheap cr123a batteries. I also always have a LED Solutions AAA flashligh in my pocket at all times of the day. Great for checking out those dark spaces looking for micros before you have to stick your hand someplace.
  10. I was in the other room and as soon as he said Geocaching it caught my attention. Cool!
  11. Go to Erie PA and look for some of Goldsnoop's harder micro caches. I assure you that you will be properly humbled.
  12. I think that they would be great for a cache! By the way I just love the way I've been using Criminal's new word all night. It just rolls off the tongue.
  13. I think that this would be pretty cool if it could be implemented.
  14. Call me egotistical if you want, I don't care. Read the cache description. Micro means small like a film canister. Regular is probably what your seeking. You don't have to find them all. I have come to that conclusion because I personaly don't care for puzzle caches. At the same time I don't complain about them either.
  15. My experience with the Wal-Mart trekking pole: It looked cheap, felt cheap and ended up breaking the third mile of a 50-mile backpacking trip. I packed it out the last 47 miles. Glad it's worked out for some people, though. I think that's what turned me off to metal poles. I bought a cheap wally world pole and broke it. I am used to the familiar heft of my wooden pole now. Maybe I'll have to try a higher quality metal pole.
  16. As long as they are tastefully done I don't think that caches in cemeteries are disrespectful at all. Many are a wonderful history lesson about the past. Feel free to hide an ammo box next to my headstone when I'm gone.
  17. I know that you are not accepting proposals at this time but......... since everyone seems to be trying to get dibs on thier suggestions this is mine. Since many cachers are animal lovers I believe that this is a worthy category.
  18. I like the idea of at least starting with just a majority rule for new categories. After we start filling up the site you can always throttle it back. If some unpopular ones slip through at the beginning they will die off eventually.
  19. Just wanted to add that I too like the idea of viewing all the stats on one page. Like benchmarks, have them there but not count towards your total.
  20. I know that is not as practical but I still prefer a good strong wooden staff. Maybe it makes me feel more in tune with nature.
  21. As far as your PDA goes the Zire 31 is more than you'll ever need for caching as was already mentioned. I wanto to second the recommendation for Cachemate. Also check out GSAK. I tried the spinner/Plucker method and found it somewhat cumbersome. With GSAK and cachemate I can have my GPS and PDA both loaded up with 500 caches in a matter of about 5 minutes or so. Welcome to the addiction.
  22. You can usually find ammo cans for 4-7 bucks, and you have a couple of months to save up for it before the snow flies. I've seen them in yard sales for less than that.
