  1. Yep. You can set it up to prompt you or do it automatically.
  2. I just started playing around with it and got so wrapped up in it I planned all the caches along the route that we are using to get to GW4. It would have taken me ten times longer the old way with GC.com maps. That and the cool factor of "flying" place to place makes it a blast.
  3. Solution? Go find some geocaches so that we can think you are something other than a sock puppet or troll.
  4. Don't let all the naysayers get you down. It's a great unit. A lot of the ones that are talking smack are die hard Magellen fans who wouldn't say a good thing about Garmin units if they magically put a neon sign over the cache.
  5. I've tried several inside the pants holsters some pretty pricey, but couldn't find anything comfortable for my Taurus 9mm. It's only a problem in the Summer and then I resort to a fanny pack holster when I'm out and about. Otherwise I use a paddle holster with a covering garment.
  6. That's probably your problem. The backlight eats batteries no matter how low you have it set. You may be right. I turned off the backlight and got 18 hours of use. Thanks for all of the replies! Glad to be of service!
  7. Like you everyone else is entitled to opinion. I'd expect that kind of response from a 10 year old.
  8. I've use paypal on EBay for 3 or 4 years and never had a problem.
  9. We had a discussion about this not too long ago. The general conscensus was that it's not a good idea.
  10. Not doubting what you are saying and don't think this should be used for a TB hotel anyway, however when was this implemented? There have been several series in the last year I have seen that have had "Bonus" caches at the end that required you to complete the series or certain parts to get the coords for the final. This series , Addmittedly from 2004 but one I could grab quickly, is one example. I think that this has been in the listing guidelines for a long time. I know what you are talking about, the difference is that you can find the bonus cache's coordinates by visiting other caches. No email to the cache owner is required.

  12. Yep, you would have to call someone else a wuss in order to see a spike ... Wuss!!!
  13. Wouldn't be a little bit fun if we could see each other's meters and gently push someone who was close to the edge?
  14. Driving from Bradford PA. A little over 1400 miles one way. Road trip!!
  15. Give a guy a white lab coat and all that power goes to his head.
  16. Wow! Even better, I have a permanent bad boy record.
  17. I applaud your exitement about hiding a new cache, thanks for putting one out. If it was a question about your cache ask away. If it was just a general announcement that you placed a new cache I can see his point. Most people don't post to the forums when they hide a cache. If they did, with the amount of caches hidden every day the forums would be loaded with "Check out my new cache" threads.
  18. I forgot all about the warning meters. I had Keystone spike mine one time just to see what life was like on the dark side.
  19. Just got my new 60cx and loving it. The only thing that concerns me about it is the whether or not the printing on the buttons will last with repeated use. Has this been an issue with any Garmin 60 series owners? If so what do you think about a coat of clear nail polish on the buttons to protect them.
  20. I think that I may take the plunge and trust mapsource and my GPS to get me to Texas.
