  1. Oh YEAH! We are coming for sure!! Too bad it's not 8 miles from my house like the last 2 years....but we wouldn't miss it!! I'll be waiting....
  2. This game makes me want to stay home for the next few weeks checking my computer every five minutes! We haven't been able to snag one the past two years, but maybe this is our year! Hopefully I'll be sitting at home checking when one shows up near South Hill Puyallup!
  3. Thank you so much! I haven't tried to DL any more yet......but I bet that was it!
  4. Sorry, I had a minor emergency and couldn't log in. Anyway, thank you for trying to help. I have Windown Vista and use IE. I did try to reboot, redownload and reboot...anything I could think of. No luck.
  5. I have a Delorme PN-20 and I used to use "send to GPS" all the time. Now when I do it, it says I have no Delorme Plug in. So I re-download it. And it still says I don't have it. Confused????? I'm not computer savvy, so I'm not sure what I could possibly be doing wrong? Maybe something to do with security settings? But why would it suddenly change when it used to work?
  6. Oh thank you guys so much, through all your advise I figured it out. I needed to retransfer the regional maps for Utah and I was accidentally trying to transfer the whole US! It was way too much load for my memory and it gave me error messages. I just selected the correct map and it went through fine. Appreciate the help!! Teamfox4
  7. I know I didn't turn them off in setup because my local maps are still showing. I don't know how to tell if my maps are still there or really wiped out for good. I believe they are still there but it seems to me when I go thru Topo and exchange the waypoint layer...it's like I'm putting a blank sheet of paper over my maps with just the waypoints on it. I may try to reload my maps, which are thru the sd card, but it was kind of a pain so I hoped there was an easier fix...
  8. I have a Delorme PN-20 and have loaded maps for a few states on it. I recently did my 1st pocket query and transfered everything but the regional maps thru Topo7. So my caches were on there but no maps, even though I had that part of the state on there previously. So I did one again and asked it to transfer the regional maps (which took hours), and it didn't have any of the maps on there again and I came up with some kind of error. (Maybe not enough memory for the maps since I already had them on?) So I'm going on vaca to Utah in 2 days and have GOT to geocache!! HELP! I wish I have a friend here in Puyallup to just get on there and do it, but they all have Oregon's!!!
  9. Ok, I used the great download to GPS and it worked, but the size/clue/terrain/desc. is not on there. I believe there is a way to get this on there, hopefully useing this easy transfer button! I did it the long way too going thru Topo 7 with LOC and GPX, but it gave me the same info. Anyone know the easiest way to get the description info in there?
  10. I just got my PN-20, figured out how to mark waypoints manually, and noticed on the PN-20 it has an extra digit. In example, when I mark it has N 47 99.9999, but the cache coords just have N 47 99.999. Am I supposed to add "0" for the last number? I know I've got the right datum, and am set to degrees and minutes corectly. I saw some pics in the delorme manual that had the numbers both ways, so I don't know if theres a way to change it to the right amount of digits or if I even should mess with it. Also, it came with "Topo USA 7" CD and "PN-20 Regional precut maps". Are these the same thing? I loaded Washington State onto my 1GB SD card with the precut and it said it didn't have room for anything else! I was hoping to get a few states on there! Not sure if I'm doing this the best way. Thanks! I love my Delorme, but the learning curve has been difficult!
  11. I'm doing #100 tomorrow (Saturday) and am stumped on what to do. Any ideas for a cool caches no more than 40 minutes away and kid friendly? Just looking for something kind of fun. I'm easily impressed to tell you the truth.
  12. I heard there was a actual Geocaching store, maybe around the Kirkland area. I would love to go there but can't seem to find any info online. Does anyone have any info on it or a website? Thanks! Teamfox4
  13. Thank you all so much. I'm definately going with the Pn-20. I found one for $149 and Tiger gps has a pricematch guarantee, they seem like the best place to go through. I just informed Hubby what he's getting me for Christmas. I'm sure he's trilled after the 4 mile muddy hike I dragged the whole family on last Saturday. I enjoyed myself......
  14. Ok, sorry. I posted earlier wanting to upgrade my Yellow Garmin Etrex to something that keeps a really excellent signal under tree cover (mine is really awful), and has maps. Now I've decided I must have paperless caching as well. What do you recommend? I'd like to spend $150-200, and I don't mind refurbished or used. I've heard good things about the Delorme PN-20, but i know there is an 800 character limit, is that going to be lifted on the PN-20 too? Based on wanting a paperless and in my price range is there even anything else I should be looking at? Thanks again!
  15. Thank you so much! I really appreciate your responses, you've given me a great staring point. I'll keep checking back, if anyone has any more opinions I'd love to hear them!
  16. I've been caching about a year with my faithful Yellow Garmin Etrex, and I think it's time to upgrade. I have no idea of what's good, and want one that's simple to use. What I'm really looking for is something that works well in tree cover (mine's signal is always lost or bouncing), and something with some maps so I can see if the cache is on a trail or at least where the closest road is. I'd like to spend under $150, ok maybe $200. I go Goecaching with my family every weekend, and would like something that doesn't have many quirks or bugs. I'm not really worried about paperless caching, I'm not very technical and it scares me! I'm looking at: Delorme PN-20 Garmin Vista HCX Garmin 60CSX But I'm wondering if there is something more basic that meets my needs. If anyone has any ideas I would be greatful! -Aimee
