  1. Scoped out a perfect tucked away spot to hide a regular so i go home to put a cache together, get back out there, move a rock and low and behold a altoids with a blank logsheet.
  2. Pretty much everyone else does. It's weird; until the last few months, this topic never came up on the forums. The answer is so obvious that nobody questioned it. But suddenly a substantial number of of people think it's OK to post intentionally bad coords for hides. What's up with that? turn a lame hide into something harder. eventually people catch on and put that hiders caches on ignore.
  3. So i found a perfect spot to hide a cache but 300ft away is a virtual. do cache saturation rules apply when the cache its too close to is a virtual?
  4. I usually just put five dollars. ftf can buy their own ftf trinket with it.
  5. Give me a 35mm film cannister[black and grey] with a soupy log and i'm happy as a bug in a rug! - seriously i love ammo cans!
  6. What about the newbie cacher that might just have signed up that day and picked that cache to find? Wasting peoples gas, time and money isn't funny to me.
  7. I found one like that a few months ago. lighter, syringe and spoon about 15 ft away from the cache.
  8. Nice design, I like it. Are you putting this in the public domain? Or do you intend to sell related merchandise? No opinion either way, just curious. I think Groundspeak would have issue with someone selling something for profit with their logo on it.
  9. Googles driving directions gets confused by some punctuation marks too.
  10. consistantly off by 20 feet? EASY!, when gps says 20 feet, you're at GZ
  11. at least its not under a ugly lamp post skirt!
  12. Only problem I see there other than encouraging people to mess with water valves is the stakes to mount it would violate the no pointy objects rule
  13. I love it! i'm good at that kind of stuff. however faced with being denied a smilie there are people that wouldn't be past smashing it with a rock or against a tree.
  14. Remove 'found it' from dropdown of log your visit if you've already logged a found it on a cache.
  15. I have a friend who i have upgraded to premium who had some coins they adopted while on a basic account that they don't get email notifications when the coin has a log[tested this] - they have one geocoin and a travel bug that was not adopted that they get email notify's if they're found or discovered. is this a known bug within the code when a person while on a basic account that adopts travelers then upgraded to premium doesn't get coin notify emails?
  16. The cache has been reviewed and coordinates agreed and the girl is now just waiting for the cache to be published. It is already out there, just no one knows where it is yet. Unless it has a travel bug or geocoin dropped in it then possibly people do know where it is before its published.
  17. "Too many" is one more than one can maintain in a timely fashion.
  18. You mean placing it somewhere the elements won't get to it. like making a LPC out of it?
  19. Look at the satellite pic then when on site, lift the nearest lamp post skirt and most likely there'll be a film cannister under it. - no desc, no hint: about the same amount of thought that went into the hide and container.
  20. Those caches were placed in May of 2009. Unless that is a new trail, "anyone else" had eight years before that to place caches, but didn't. Personally I would be behind a guideline that said cachers couldn't have their own caches within 1/2 of a mile from eachother. It would help to avoid cache saturation by individual geocachers. That would also prevent power trails too. that'd be frustrating to those that throw a film cannister out the window every .1mi
  21. 50 hides. one is archived. just one short of making that list.
  22. If i spend more than 15 minutes looking for it, when i get back it goes on the ignore list and DNF logged
