    Maps not working

Hi Raine, no your link doesn't work. I'm using Windows 7. Firefox 20.0.1 when I click on maps page the map displays the egg timer spins around on the tab for ages and I get a message in the bottom of the screen saying connecting to geocaching.com then connecting to tiles01.geocaching.com some times its tiles03 or tiles04 then it times out. I don't know your skill level for computers is so if this is too much let me know. Open a command window and type tracert tiles.geocaching.com and paste the results in to a private message to me or email me at raine@geocaching.com Thanks! Hi Raine, results have been emailed to you, thanks for your help

    Maps not working

They still aren't working for me and several UK people, who have also posted on facebook so suggested they post here. All I get is a map no cache overlay. I've tried two seperate computers and both not rendering the map overlay so think you have another problem.

    Maps not working

Is it possible that the problem is related to a session or something? Most of the time when people are reporting not seeing any icons, it starts working for them again after about 15 minutes. Just a thought. No, it's server related. We have 21 servers operating the site and in this case WEB-16 was misbehaving. The reason it might suddenly appear to start working for someone is that after a while they get moved to a new server. Hi Moun10Bike, any ETA on a fix? Going into the weekend here in UK without any map

    Maps not working

I have cleared my cache and cookies and still can't get the map to work. I've shut down, I've turned off my firewall and It either never loads the page at all and then firefox times out saying that the geocaching.com sever took too long to respond. or if it does load the map it doesn't display the map icons. The map page never seems to load completely. I've tried firefox, IE and chrome none work. I'm in the uk.
  7. Another day and maps still not working:mad:
  8. Giving up for tonight the map page doesn't load at all just times out - considering there has meant to have been enhancements in yesterday's update it has got worse than ever. Some kind of acknowledgement from groudspeak would be good. A very sorry state of affairs.
  9. Hi Mine is http://www.geocachetrails.com What's yours?
  10. 1) Top right hand corner - click on the little arrow by the monkey. 2) Click manage user scripts 3) Click options on the Geocaching map enhancements 4) Click on the map script 5) Click edit this user script 6 Edit as per the instructions in the jri post 7) Click File then save Should then work. Nb for some reason I have several map scripts and ended up editing them all before it worked.
  11. Have you tried this website: http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/results.asp?county=Cambridgeshire, there is a campsite right by Grafham Water Check out http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=2735 There are couple of large series nearby 3 Shires way that goes around the lake and then S2E2 and the Woolley Mamouth series. If you are looking for trails, check out my site http://www.geocachetrails.com were you can search the map for series, colour coded by size I've booked a room at http://www.new-manor-farm.co.uk/ nearby
  12. And now no geocaches are showing on my map
  13. Feels like a good time to plug my website http://www.geocachetrails.com

  15. I always thought you had to go into http://www.geocaching.com/notify/default.aspx (in right column of quick view) and uncheck enable notifications on each one!
  16. Thanks Starbrand, that is one solution for sure and thanks for the suggestion, I think that is all I can do at the current time, but it isn't ideal as you have to set up multiple notifications (as you can only do one notification per cache type) and it would be much better to be able to cover it off in a pocket query.
  17. Pocket queries are fantastic, it is possible to interrogate the database of caches in all sorts of combinations. Yet one very key feature appears to be missing and that is to be able to select caches by "DATE PUBLISHED". It is currently only possible to select caches by "DATE PLACED" but if you are creating a Pocket Query for new caches in an area using "DATE PLACED" can miss out caches. For example I have a Weekly Pocket Query that runs to bring back newly published caches in the area outside of my Instant Notification Area. To do this I have set "Date Placed = Last Week" but any caches that were published last week but actually placed sometime before that will be missed out of the query for that week. The key date for me is date published as that is the first date a cache became available to find. As there is a specific log type for "Published" it is likely that this information is in the Groundspeak data base and would therefore could be be added to the Pocket Query form.
  18. Once again thanks for all the photos, here is the link http://www.walk4life.info/schools-out-summer-ready-get-set-go-geocaching
  19. Thanks to everyone who has replied, there are some smashing photos here it will be difficult to choose. I can only use a few so hopefully I won't offend anyone if I don't choose theirs this time around. I'll post a link to the article once it's published. Thanks again
