  1. I work with www.Playtimeinc.com out of Seattle, WA with corporate team building programs called Geoteaming. We host events all over the world but this time we are coming to the Lincoln City/Glenden Beach area. The event is June 7th for 75 people from Techtronix. The start time is 11 am and it will require about five hours of your time. We will break the 75 people into seven teams of seven to nine each and they will have a completive/collaborative race to complete as many caches (specifically designed for this event at a local park not active caches on Geocaching.com). as possible in three hours with prizes for the best team, most photogenic team, and a collaborative prize for the entire company if they meet their MAIN Goal and maximize revenue for the day. I can tell you lots more about it later if you are interested in getting involved, but here is what I need right now. I need two highly capable, energetic cachers who are comfortable working with technology to help us with the event. It isn't that you need to have LOTS of caches under your belt. It's that you need to work well unsupervised, be fair, positive, very dependable, like working with people, be a good listener, and love to have a great time sharing your love for geocaching. 1. You will help us set up the event before it starts. 2. You will help us train the participants on how to use a Garmin yellow Etrex, a Dell PPC, a 2-way radio, and a digital camera in less than 30 minutes. 3. You will be an EQUIPMENT EXPERT in the field during the game so it is a must that you are comfortable in that situation and be able to keep the teams mobile. 4. You will also be a safety monitor to keep people safe and having fun. *You will NOT be part of a team, and must not help them cheat or give away answers. That would take away their learning experience that is designed into the course. We will pay $50 (at the end of the event) You also get a white Geoteaming Polo shirt to keep. Once the event is over we love to hear feedback and connect with people who want to help us with future events and if we use them again, the pay goes to $75, then to $100 for experienced techs. Please make sure that you are physically able to handle the challenge of moving around the entire time with a team. LOTS of walking fast. If you are available I need your REAL NAME, Your polo shirt size (they run large), your cell phone #, and a home # for a back up. if you have fun working with us, we like to store your name in our GeoTech database to call for future events. WARNING-- All participants (Geotechs and teams that are participating) must sign a waiver to participate. It's basically a 'you won't sue me if you get hurt running around disney' paper. If you can't sign the waiver, you can't play, sorry, that is just the way it is in our 'sue happy' world. ALSO, this invite is specific to you, this is not a family event, it is a professional team building event. I can't tell you not to bring your spouse or kids obviously, but you will be agreeing to work and won't have time during the event for distractions. Events are very quick and fast paced, but they are loads of fun, I promise! Thanks for you help, in advance and I look forward to hearing from you. I hope you are available to help! Remember it's a Monday, I know work days are harder to find people. If you are interested please email me at bangel4228@msn.com. My caching name is habu! (from San Diego) if you want to check me out on the geocaching website. This posting has been approved by Groundspeak.

  5. Yeah..they did 50 in Puzzle Valley and didn't even need help. And they are leaving really cool coins behind. They seem TOP NOTCH!!! They are welcome here any day. Even their logs are nice and lengthy and descriptive!!! They love Team Adelos and QDMan!! I met Ken and Paul for lunch at the Rubio's near 'GCQB76' ...and no, we didn't eat any of those citters for lunch. They're just two sharp fellas from the North out here on a puzzle caching vacation (with their wives' permission of course). I wanted to do a coin trade with them so we met up for lunch. I'm sure they could give FM, QDM, TT and TA a run for their money any day!

  10. I work with www.Playtimeinc.com out of Seattle, WA with corporate team building programs called Geoteaming. We host events all over the world but this time we are coming to Arizona in February. The event is February 27th in Phoenix for 200 people from Wyndham Resorts. The event start time is 1:00 PM and it will require about five hours of your time. We will break the 200 people into 25 teams of eight each and they will have a competitive/collaborative race to complete as many caches (specifically designed for this event at a local park not active caches on Geocaching.com). as possible in three hours with prizes for the best team, most photogenic team, and a collaborative prize for the entire company if they meet their MAIN Goal and maximize revenue for the day. I can tell you lots more about it later if you are interested in getting involved, but here is what I need right now. I need five highly capable, energetic cachers who are comfortable working with technology to help us with the event. It isn't that you need to have LOTS of caches under your belt. It's that you need to work well unsupervised, be fair, positive, very dependable, be outgoing, like working with people, be a good listener, and love to have a great time sharing your love for geocaching. 1. I would like for you to arrive at least one hour before the event because I will need to review our technology and answer your questions about the event. Once the event starts it moves at a quick pace. 2. You will help us train the 200 people on how to use a Garmin yellow Etrex, a Dell PPC, a 2-way radio, and a digital camera in less than 30 minutes. 3. Most importantly: You will be an EQUIPMENT EXPERT in the field during the game so it is a must that you are comfortable in that situation and be able to keep the teams mobile. 4. You will also be a safety monitor to keep people safe and having fun. 5. I would also like for you to help us sweep the course to pick up any course materials (i.e., cache containers, hints or clues left on the course) after the event is over. *You will NOT be part of a team, and must not help them cheat or give away answers. That would take away their learning experience and eliminate any conflicts that may be designed into the course. We will pay $50 (at the end of the event). You will also receive a white Geoteaming Polo shirt to keep. Once the event is over we love to hear feedback via a team debrief and connect with people who want to help us with future events and if we use them again, the pay goes to $75, then to $100 for experienced techs. Please make sure that you are physically able to handle the challenge of moving around the entire time with a team. (LOTS of walking fast). If you are available I need your REAL NAME, Your polo shirt size, your cell phone #, and a home # for a back up. if you have fun working with us, we like to store your name in our GeoTech database to call for future events. WARNING-- All participants (Geotechs and teams that are participating) must sign a waiver to participate. It's basically a 'you won't sue me if you get hurt running around Phoenix paper. Events are very quick and fast paced, but they are loads of fun, I PROMISE YOU WILL HAVE MORE FUN THAN THE PARTICIPANTS! Thanks for you help, in advance and I look forward to hearing from you. I hope you are available to help! Remember it's a Wednesday, I know work days are harder to find people. If you are interested please email me at bangel4228@msn.com. 11. I would be one of those straglers. There is a chance I will be back from LA in time tomorrow. I'll keep a watch on the posts for those planning to attend.
  12. Hey Everyone! Looks like Friday night is the night for the Forbidden Forest. All of Team Reid, including Cameron (15 1/2) and Connor (11), will be there, with about 1 million candlewatt power. Love to have some company! Say 8:00 p.m. at the suggested parking location on the cache page? Hope to see everyone there. Robyn Hey! How come NOBODY admitted to being detained by the cops? We got yelled at, inspected and questioned about our motives and intentions for being in the "forest". There was another cop coming up from the rear in case the first guy needed back up. They didn't realize we were armed and could fight back, but then that is why he detained us in the first place (because we were armed). Then Jack goes wondering off on his own mumbing someting about endoor, red door, no door, under drawers or something (you know how them old folks get)and we had to send Richard after him. Poor Richard, he's such a nice guy. Robyn got a call from her husband on her cell phone (after she went running after her third cache/find (she had promised him it would only be ONE cache). Funny thing was, he was less that 100 yards away WAITING on Robyn so he could go home a sit by the fire. So with all the drama added to the fact that this is after all, a DAK girls cache where anything could happen it was a fun filled evening.
  13. I've got the Forbidden Forest on my radar for Friday night. I am looking forward to hearing Robyn SCREAM when she finds the spyders and all the nasties on the trail...

  16. Better watch out, Better not cry, Better not pout I'm Telling You Why ...'Cause Capt'n Ramius is Comin' To Town
  17. A BIG BZ TO CAT AND BOBBY! THEY HIT 200, KNOCKED OFF THE SCC SERIES, GOT THEIR TRUCK DIRTY (I HELPED WITH THAT PART) ALL AT THE SAME TIME!!!!
  18. One of the logs for the last SCC cache of the day: By the time we got to this one it was getting late in the day. After the find I overheard one of the drivers say "we can go get the last four Bear Vally caches" and then I here the passenger say "I've had enough of that old goat Harmon and his Cowboys. Let's go home so I can soak in a wonderful bubble bath and wash all this trail dust off". Then the driver pulled away in her yellow jeep waving as she went...
  19. Terrific shot that begs to be 'shopped. Makes me worry that the cowboy caches disappointed that young feller. Hope y'all learned a few things about back-country history. Shop away kind sir. Do ya think I posted this here for my health? Nay Nay my good man. Shop 'till I drop (with laughter). He had an awesome day. He lernt about some cowboy ways, saw som caches that were far betten n nem "flip flop" Duncan! type caches he's used ta seein' aorund the county AND the child had ta think fer himself. Somthin I think is missin' these days. I lernt that ya give this lad a marshmellow shooter (thanks Team Reid) he's good fer a whole day.
  20. Good grief, thar ain't a young whipper-snapper these days that kan keep up with them ole Sandy Creek Kowboy fellers. This-uns tired out after riding the range all day and heck, he wasn't even ridin' a horse!
  21. Most importantly be sure to read all the cache pages to learn about the history! I remember that Dave and I got in big trouble for not doing that. Also be sure to log your caches using cowboy talk! Pat, thanks for your support. Ya mean we can say S@#* HOWDY when we's dun?
  22. Be looking for that little yellow Jeep! I just mentioned last week that I really wanted to do this trail. Thanks for the get-together! See you at 9:00 at the Blockbuster. Robyn & Kathy of Team Reid If anyone would like to join us for a 7:45 breakfast at the nearby Denny's, let us know and we'll save you a place. Kathy I'd like to go but I just washed my jeep...
