Hi, I'm looking to buy a GPS unit for my husband for his birthday. It needs to be Mac compatible and I'd really like it to be something that he can use for a long time. Something that ranges from novice to advanced user, maps, color if possible (nice to have). We are currently using the iPhone, which is great for urban caching but doesn't work as well in the mountains when the cell signal disappears. So you Mac users let me know what you are using pros and cons. Thanks!! MaddieMoof

I'd think that could be doggled or taken by some other animal looking to gnaw on a nice bone. Could require a lot of maintenance!
