Selling A Brand New Garmin 60cs
horsegeeks replied to HowardDouglas's topic in GPS technology and devices
I am in the market for a 60cs but am concerned about one thing. What happens if something goes wrong and you have to send it in. Garmin says on their site that if it was not bought from a "real" retail dealer (no offense intended) it isn't covered. I've been holding my breath that nothing goes wrong with my legend. Garmin wants 100.00 to even look at it. Thanks for the info -
I'm in need of a 8, 16 or 32 mb compact flash card to try out paperless geocaching on my PDA. I just want to see how it works and if it does work for me I will buy a new larger CF card. Does anyone have one laying around they don't need that they will sell cheap. Thanks very much

In the miles column, are the actual miles from the cache supposed to show up? Mine is blank but will sort if I click on the miles heading. -
That happened to me. All I had to do is try to reinstall the update a couple of more times and it was OK

Is there any way to print out the whole GSAK screen to take with us on the hunt? I think that would be helpful to have the listing with us. -
I looked in the manual and couldn't figure out how to disable the power saving mode. Any help would be appreciated.

Legend Not Keeping Proper Lock On Satellites
horsegeeks replied to horsegeeks's topic in GPS technology and devices
After reloading the software and disabling WAAS it might have done a bit better. we go so many different places it was hard to tell. Thanks for the help I'll keep trying and finding a pattern. I may just be expecting too much but we are still having fun. Two first finds today among our twelve for the weekend. -

Legend Not Keeping Proper Lock On Satellites
horsegeeks replied to horsegeeks's topic in GPS technology and devices
Actually I had it straight up in my hand. I lost my lanyard. My friend had it around his neck on the lanyard most of the time. I have WAAS enabled. I'll try disabling it. I not sure if my friend has it enabled or not. I will ask. I'm not sure if we showed equivalent satellite screens. Thanks very much for your help -
Legend Not Keeping Proper Lock On Satellites
horsegeeks posted a topic in GPS technology and devices
Our month old Garmin Legend doesn't seem to keep a proper lock on the satellites. I have the latest software (3.60) on it and fresh batteries all of the time. I seem to lose the lock when I shouldn't. I decided to ask the question here on the forum because I went on a team cache and a friend with the identical GPS had a lock the whole 2.6 miles each way. It was quite dense at times but I didn't have it and he did. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks very much -
Geocaching Vest Yellow/black For Sale At Ebay
horsegeeks replied to Maliberry's topic in GPS technology and devices
Does anybody know where to buy these new? -
Once you pay with Paypal how do you get the necessary username and serial number to launch the ebook. Thanks very much

I haven't been able to find it either. The closest I have come is to upload a waypoint from the GPS to Mapquest and then use it to find the map. I would be curious for an answer. You can do in in MS MapPoint easily.

When downloading waypoints from the geocaching.com site can you download several pages of them to the same file. I'll try to explain better. When I search for all of the waypoints close to a zipcode it returns with about ten pages of waypoints. When I say check all and then download it transfers all of the waypoints on THAT page to my pc to a filename of my choice. Can I transfer all of the waypoints from say three pages and have them go to one filename so they will all open up in EasyGps at once. thanks very much for your help

Wanted Metroguide 4.02 For Legend
horsegeeks replied to horsegeeks's topic in GPS technology and devices
Good morning, I just ten minutes ago purchased V5.0 on Ebay. That will be the only Garmin sw I have. Thanks for the offer. -
I am looking for a legal copy of the Garmin Metroguide 4.02. I can purchase one on EBAY for 40.00 but would like to save some money if possible. I also have some computer equipment for trade if that would be a possibility. I am just starting out so I would like to keep the expenses down until I see if I really like doing it. Thanks very much.
